DVD Games Purchased Elseware

Xbox Disc games can only be played on the console themselves.

They are not able to be played on a PC through its disc drive.

Some digital games when purchased are what Microsoft (MS) calls Play anywhere games Most of these games are MS published games like the Gears series and State of Decay 2.

When these games are bought digitally you can play them both on the console and the PC without purchasing a different copy of them and as long as you are signed into the same account your progress carries between the PC and the console also.

As far as having to purchase multiple copies of games for the different systems (Xbox, PC, PS, Nintendo) This has been industry standard from the beginning nothing has changed. It is really based on the publisher of the games themselves MS can do this because
they are the publisher for most of these games.

When browsing through the Market place, you will already be in your region. However, if you are meaning disk copies then this will not be region locked. It is the codes, games and the content on Xbox Live that are region locked, not DVD's.

Sorry, there's no way to download the game with any sort of serial code unless you actually purchased the game digitally. Sorry to hear that you've lost your game disc but that would mean that you'd have to purchase the game again. You can elect to purchase
it digitally this time if you'd like (if it's available) that way you don't have to worry about losing discs.

Was the DVD set purchased new? I'm afraid it's impossible to move products between accounts, once the code is used it's used.

The DVDs are now completely outdated and he would have to download the game again anyway.
