DVD drive matching

My daughters ex had two 360's that was taken apart is today I figured I would look into it. I put the drive into both of them and it will only play DVD's. How do I tell which console matches to the drive? I've read somewhere the numbers must match. I'm lost
can anybody point me in the right direction?

Hi, without the matching DVD key on the new board the Xbox will not be able to play games. JTAG would be required to either extract the key or modify the console to play ISO's from a hard drive

 

Bluray out of sync

While trying to watch Godfather 40th Anniversary Collection Pal Region 4, both Bluray and Dvd, the sound was not matching the picture I tried disk 2 of West Wing Season 2, Dvd Region 4, it was better, but didn't 'feel' right

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news but you wont get any help with this on these forums. It's against the ToU / CoC to tamper with a console and its against the Forum Guidelines to discuss it. Your best option would be to buy a new system to ensure you have
the best possible experience, and of course, warranty.

Ok thanks didn't know , the consoles are like 5-7 years old. I have a working one already . They were already taken apart so I was bored and wanted to put back together that's all

I would go ahead and use the working one so long as its not been tampered with or modified.
