Durability of Xbox One Elite controller

I bought an Xbox One Elite controller specifically for its paddle buttons (and absolutely loved them) back in 17 Mar 2018. And then a little
over a month of gameplay, the P1 (little green) button collapses and won't spring back up; it's like in a perpetual depressed state. The controller design's quite tight and I cannot figure out how to disassemble it and see if there's anything fixable
under that button.

After communicating with Xbox support, I'll be receiving instructions to send the controller off for a replacement unit. While that is fine and all, I am quite shocked how quickly the paddle buttons - the whole point of buying this controller - can brake down
and force me back to traditional button input.

If I read correctly this controller was released in 2015. How has the overall durability of this design been for other owners?

PS - I previously utilised an Xbox 360 controller, which a little less than one and half years of usage, began to exhibit power loss problems due to the loose plate-depression design of the battery pack. It could be resolved by a low-tech solution of inserting
some folds of paper into the plate hole so that the plate can actually depress all the way to form a proper electrical circuit. Again I was shocked they even designed in such a flimsy manner.

Xbox One Controller Durability?

I have purchased 20 controllers since I have bought my Xbox one in Sept 2014. Almost every single one has either has had a left analog stick problem or the left bumper breaks from only being used after a month. I even have an Elite Controller that the left
bumper broke after only a month of usage, for a controller that cost me around $130 CDN. I don't understand how a company that had the sturdy Xbox 360 Controllers, has such a weak xbox one controllers. I just recently bought a controller and the left stick
is starting fail on it. Can you please help me understand why every controller I have had and my friends have had break at the analog sticks or the bumpers?

Unfortunately, if the hardware in the controller appears to be malfunctioning, the only option would be to look into having that controller serviced/replaced, I'm afraid. Depending on how long you've had the controller, it may still be covered under warranty
