Duplicate playlists in Xbox Music

What's the current status for duplicated, incorrect playlists that are synced across the Xbox Music system?

It's still VERY much an issue and Zune software has been retired.

How can users prevent duplicates, triplicates etc of incorrect playlists appearing on their Xbox, Surface, PC's etc when they put some music in the Xbox Music app for their Windows Phone?

Moving playlists to my Windows Phone 8

When is MS going to allow me to use xbox music pass playlists to SYNC the music between my windows 8 pc and my window phone 8 SO that the music is stored on the wp8 device SO I am not paying ATT broadband fees every time I want to play music pass music?

Zune had this feature - the music would be local on the phone or zunehd device but expire after about a month IF the device didn't reconnect to the Zune software - truly the best of both worlds..

What I think is also not mentioned in any of the official MS work arounds is: running Windows Media Player, Zune, xbox music metro app cause PLAYLISTS to DUPLICATE and TRIPLICATE on your PC... Zune re-creates WMP playlists, then WMP fights back and XBOX
finds them BOTH... UGGGGG

Playlist Import failure and questions

Thanks for your response. My initial message already answered your questions. It was originally over 100 but it reduced the number once I noticed the limit. I have tried to delete/reimport but it keeps incrementing the playlist number. If I try to rename
a playlist, I am told that it is a duplicate even though there isn't another list visible in Xbox Music.

This issue is affecting me too - WMP syncing with Windows Phone (Lumia 920, Lumia Black, WP8.1 DP 8.10.14157.200, Xbox Music v.2.6.186.0).

Affects both auto and manually created playlists in WMP, regardless of size (1-10 or 800+ tracks).

Hi, is it possible that the tracks that appear to be duplicates are only duplicates on the media centre ap and not on the file system. I had a similar issue when upgrading to 7 where when creating playlists, the media centre remembered where the old tracks
were and the ones moved to the playlists became duplicates.

Is it possible for you to go to the properties of the track in the app to find the file location of music track(1) and music track, they could either lead to the same location, so deleting one will not have any negative impact, or one of them goes to a location
that does not exist, so you have to delete that from the. Media centre

Ok let's take these things one at the time.

Duplicating could be the Problem.

- First I make my playlists in WMP. I do this because WMP has all the options I need to manage my Music collection (30-40Gigs).

- Since I have Nokia Lumia 900, I must need Zune to copy Music to my Phone. So Zune is also installed.

Zune copies my playslists from WMP automaticly; And puts the playlists in it's own directory by it's own extension.

- My Xbox360 is in my Living Room and i prever to hear my Music there to by use of Xbox Music. This is where the troubles start.

- Xbox Music on my Windows 8 PC can load the excisting playlists automaticly,
but I can't say from which directory, or which playlists i want to load.

1. I tried to rename the dublicated playlists in the Xbox Music APP by deleting (2),(3),(4)... That's not possible! Xbox Music says the playlist already excists.

But i don't know where, because I can't tell from which location it is importing my Music, or playlists.

2. I tried to delete all the playlists in Zune and Xbox Music and loaded the playlists after that, only in Xbox Music. Problem still there...

The playlists are shown with (2),(3),(4) etc.

Note: This doesn't count for all the playlists, but most of them.

4. Becaus Xbox Music dublicates all these playlists, I also receive an error when importing to Xbox Music. The error tell's me that only a 100 playlists max. can be loaded.

- I don't have >100 playlists. But in Xbox Music I do, because it dublicates all the playlists ones or more....
