Duplicate installations on Xbox One.

Hello!

I have 2 external HDD's on Xbox One.

I'm surprised Xbox One doesen't have any "protection" against installing same game up to 3 times (If you have 3 HDD's).

Now and then i find duplicate DLC's stored on 2 HDD's.

Today i found 2 complete Hitman installations separate on 2 HDD's.

The cause of this is that if you change default install location, the installed content on different HDD is ignored by Xbox System.

So much HDD space can go to waste on this.

On PS4 duplicate install is impossible. That's a good thing, but the HDD handling on Xbox One is still superior as the console support hot swap of USB HDD's while console is on, but also support 2 HDD's at the same time.

Does anyone know if MS are planning to resolve the duplicate install issue?

Two achievement sections showing for the same game.

My account is showing an achievement duplicate entry for the game. I've check both on the web and also on my Xbox One console and the duplicate is present on both, so it's not just a temporary rendering glitch.

 

Duplicate achievement list on Xbox One

I was wondering if someone could help me with this issue. I recently started playing Red Dead Redemption (Game of the year edition) for the first time on Xbox One via backwards compatibility. It's my first time playing it and I only own this version of the
game. For some reason it shows 2 separate achievement lists on my Xbox One. One with achievements I've earned while playing and also a duplicate one with zero achievements unlocked.

One of the lists is simply called "Red Dead Redemption" (the one with unlocked achievements) and has the original release artwork with red background and the other one is called "RDR Single player" and has the game of the year edition artwork featuring the
undead nightmare zombie on the right (no achievements on this one). It seems my Xbox One can't tell the difference between the original version and the game of the year edition.

I'm a bit obsessive about this sort of thing and it's driving me crazy having this 0% list pop up each time I boot up and look at my achievements that I can't unlock anything on. I contacted support and they couldn't do anything to help. Am i stuck with
this? It's the only game I've had it happen on. Please help me delete this duplicate list as it really sours my Xbox One experience. I was quite happy about backwards compatibility in the beginning but now I'm worried about playing future Xbox 360 games I
never got round to on the Xbox One in case something similar happens.

I understand where you're coming from and personally I agree and have noticed the same with my own multiple external HDD's. I recommend taking this suggestion

to Xbox Ideas so that it can be reviewed and weighed. There's no guarantees but it will help get the idea reviewed.

There is no category for System/Firmware suggestions or similar.

My suggestion is under "Console Hardware and Accessories" as it's porobably the closest category.

My suggestion for this didn't get accepted by someone at MS, and my post is already removed in suggestions.

Looks like we will be stuck with duplicate installs.
