Duplicate achievement entries for the same game.

Running Geometry Wars 2 on Xbox One using 360 backwards compatibility causes two separate entries to appear in the achievements list.

The duplicates are not simply a rendering issue as the Xbox website and the console show the same duplicated result. I asked a friend to boot up the same game on his profile and the same problem was created for him.

Out of the two achievement sections for this game, it seems gained achievements are associated with one and only the 'time played' is associated with the other making it seem as if there is a database problem within Xbox Live servers for this game.

Being achievement enthusiasts, my friend and I would like to clean our profiles up.

Hey, I just wanted to add another game to the list I just recently noticed. Gears of War 2 is also doing this exact same thing. It is showing duplicate entries on the website, xbox one console, the smartphone app and the windows 10 app. I just wanted
to throw it in as an update as I know they are looking in to this issue.

I actually did not use a digital copy at all, using on the physical disk. I completed the game 100% then saw it had two entries of the 360 version in Xbox 360 Smartglass. I then went to the website and saw the same issue. I thought it might be a digital
signature but it doesn't actually show up on my list of games on the 360 list for me to delete (like you can do with games with 0 gamerscore). I downloaded the digital version of episode one since it was free on 360 but upon playing it I found that it just
registers as the standard 360 retail version. I searched online to see if I could find any others with this issue. Apparently it's present in this game and the physical copy of Resident Evil Revelations 2. Both of which produce the exact same results.


I created a side profile to test something out and tried using the digital versions of each game. When using the digital version only the fake/duplicate "0 achievement/gamerscore" entry never appears, but immediately upon putting in the physical disk for
either game it immediately shows the fake/duplicate entry.

 

Yeah,that's normal.Not sure why it happens but it happens to everyone.

I wouldn't describe this as normal. It's clearly a bug which they've overlooked with the Xbox One backwards compatibility element of the game. They seem to have made a mistake for a single element of the cataloging information.

When it comes to the Xbox 360, I'm guessing the problem isn't there. Your own profile, for example, doesn't replicate this problem no doubt because your history with that game will be solely Xbox 360.

Is there a better way to inform Xbox One engineers directly about this issue?
