dumbest design ever

I don't know who had the bright idea in the first place to design this but the touch "button" turn on for the console is the dumbest idea i have ever seen. in the last 24 hours my console has been turned off 4 times due to the fact that something gently
brushes that stupid touch button.

no i am not able to move the xbox as i have no where to else to set it. I should not have to worry about my xbox shutting off in the middle of me playing a game due to my dog's tail swishing past the console and turn it off or my leg brushing it as i reach
for something behind it.

so to reiterate, the touch "button" is the most inefficient idea i have personally seen as it causes the system to be turned off too easily by animals or children or simply accidentally as you lean past your console. the idea to use this should have been
thrown in the garbage, the fact Microsoft jumped on this "Touch" bandwagon is the only thing turning me off of the xbox console, as i personally have no other issues with the systems.

now i know alot of you will say "The xbox one S doesn't have this issue." and yes i am aware of this however i am unable to afford to get a S and i got my xbox before the S was released. until now my xbox has been in a place where it wasn't easily accessed
but i recently moved and now it i can't put it somewhere out of reach.

i totally agree. i have a 360 S and i usually keep the case of the game i am playing on top of the console. (not covering the vent of course.) so many times i have reached up and accidentally brushed the eject button, which of course immediately kicks
you out of the game you are playing. oddly, it will even kick you out of games and apps that have nothing to do with the disc, like Netflix!!

to actually provide some help with your issue, i would suggest putting something, like a paperweight, in front of the button. that might help keep your pup's tail from touching it. there's really not much else you could do, though i suspect you were just
looking for a place to express your frustration, rather than finding an actual solution.

OP just keep the console in a high (out of the dog's reach at least) well ventilated place and you will enjoy gaming in that console for a long time.

 

against tech suggestions, really? he could use something like a heavy drinking glass, or anything transparent so it wouldn't block infrared signals, but the wireless controller uses signals that can go through walls, so i doubt a small object would really
make any difference...

he also already said he can't move the console. thanks for trying to be helpful anyway...

 

Every obstruction in front of a console be that transparent or not is still an obstruction and it will deteriorate the way the console responds. Further more I would refrain from placing glass or breakable objects around the console.

OP refrain from the use of home made remedies and always refer to the instructions that come with the xbox one manual:

It isn't recommended by professionals and support please avoid doing this and if you are currently doing this stop immediately so you do not wreck the system.

 

If X1 had a command on controller to eject disk you could cover the button on console.

Been looking but have not found such a controller command like 360 has?
