DTS xbox one no subwoofer

Hello

I have xbox one connected to TV using HDMI;

TV is connected to AV using TOSLINK;

XBOX is connected to AV using TOSLINK.

AV: pioneer vsx d711

no hdmi

(dts, toslink, coaxial)

on Auto mode (signal) it detects DTS (optical) (see it on AV display)

xbox one settings:

HDMI audio: off (becouse hdmi is only video)

Optical Audio: bitstream out

Bitstream format: DTS digital surround

At first i connect everything, love to see DTS icon on AV, i set auto settings standard and turn on fallout 4. The sound betwen stereo and DTS... :OOO love it ;

But when i check my favourite settings ( Advanced surround: Virtual SB: effect simulates 7.1) and some of +DB for back speakers) i realized i dont hear Subwoofer.

with TV works (dont have DTS signal all the time from decoder but dolby icon is on AV display)

with stereo setting in xbox settings works

no SUB in games, aps, netflix etc

bonus: my AV have few advanced surround settings: Movie, Music, VIRTL SB, Expanded and *5-Channel Stereo*

When i set on AV *5-Channel Stereo* subwoofer works !

there is no sound when i set best options for me, (standard or advanced options) only this 5channel...

*5-Channel Stereo*:

(VSX-D711)

This can be selected to give multi-channel

sound to a stereo source, using all of the

speakers in your setup.

Subwoofer does not work on Xbox One using 5.1 surround

Hi, yes my reciever is some years old but it can handle both dts and dd, it shows dd or dts depending on what I choose on the Xbox and the subwoofer works in the intro but not when the game starts

Subwoofer does not work on Xbox One using 5.1 surround

Hi

I have connected my Xbox One to my 5.1 surround system with an optical Cable. I get no subwoofer sound when playing games. When playing Blue Rays it works great.

I noticed yesterday that the subwoofer worked in the intro of the game (Fifa15) and then it is like it is disconnected... I have choosen DTS and bitstream out. I have to use optical since my reciever is old

I have the same issue with Sony STR-DG720. Optical input with 5.1 either DD or DTS and the subwoofer will not work with GTA V. Seems to work with other games just fine. Not sure what the issue is.

Xbox One doesn't support surround? what kind of amateur are you? Of course it does...... Make sure whatever sound option you have you have the same amount of speakers. 7.1 means you have 7 speakers plus a subwoofer. If you have this checked and only have
5 speakers you will lose audio because those speakers are missing. This is what it sounds like is your issue. Mine is set to DTS digital Surround which is 5.1 (5 speakers+ subwoofer.) I suggest you do the same.

Actually, I just found that by setting the front speaker size to "small" on the receiver makes the subwoofer work. Still no surround for XBone games, but everything else is working like it should now (XBone set to 5.1 mode or DTS mode has the same result)
