    DTS:X Home Theater with Yamaha AV receiver (RX-V683)


    I did what the insiders test instructions said and uninstalled any DTS app, and then once it was gone I enabled it through settings per the Insider Hub by hitting the button in the DTS:X Home Theater page in the DTS:X app - my AV receiver just says Decoder Off and there’s nothing but stony silence. I tried a couple games, YouTube and Netflix and a UHD Blu-Ray with a DTS:X track (both set to pass through to receiver and not) and nothing.

    I already filled the survey out with the above results. An RX-V583 didn’t do any better. Both recovers have the latest firmware and the connection was through the AVR to the TV (not eARC).

    Has anyone else had any problems with Yamaha AVRs?

    The DTS app version pulled down when I changed the settings was 2020.204.10.70

    DTS reverting back to Uncompressed 7.1

    This is odd. I only have 5.1 but I haven't noticed this.

    I do have a question about using a receiver though. Are you guys applying anytime of decoder on the receiver or are you allowing it to be sent in straight. I have a Yamaha RX-V371 does True HD and DTS.

    I currently have DTS selected on the Xbox One.

    Xbox One sends choppy audio signal to receiver

    Hi, I seem to always have the issue, when choosing "7.1 uncompresed" or "5.1 uncompressed", with DTS everything appears to be normal. The exact problem is, that the menu-sounds when switching between elements is choppy. Here is a fact that could help to
    find out more. I recently got a new AV-Receiver, I went from a Yamaha RX- V671 to a Denon AVR-X3000 and with my old Yamaha the problem wasn't there with the choppy menu sounds. I have a 5.0 system and my Front-Speakers are connected via Bi-Wiring. Any ideas??

    Thanks for the feedback. My receiver is a Yamaha RX-V373 and it does indeed support Dolby TrueHD;

    HD Audio format decoding: Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio; Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio

    To Dayton; so it does appear multi channel on the receiver display but the format is PCM. Seems strange. Again, with the HDMI passthru, and the TV function it is still PCM. But if I hook my Sat receiver in directly the A/V receiver displays Dolby Digital.
