    Dropped my Xbox and now it has software problems


    So recently my xbox was droped in the floor by my brother and usualy what happens is something breaks thats normal what i didnt expect was when I tried turning it back on it would just stay on the xbox turn on screen and wouldnt do anything else ive left
    it on for over 3 hours and it still wont do anything else so my question is can dropping an xbox cause software problems

    Thank you for reaching out to the forum. Yes, the HDD might have taken damage, which can effect parts of data, not being able to be read.

    I am having the same issue where my wired connection drops after 2 or 3 seconds. When I go to setup my wireless connection it says I have a wired connection. Oddly I was able to download updates with no problems, but cannot play games as xbox live drops
    every time the connection drops. I suspect that it is a software/driver issue as I have no problems with the xbox one.

    Why Don't You Buy Used Games?

    It's a rare ocassion when I buy a game new. It has to be a really bad @@@ piece of software for me to drop $60 on it. I buy most of my games for under $20, any more than that, then I just wait patiently until the price drops.
