Drop the Kinect!

Well then how come supporting an extra 100$ for a next gen piece of equipment is SUCH a problem?

They won't be announcing a kinectless x1 for at least a few months, unless they are really bothered by the sales figures of competitors.

Just do what most gamers are doing, buy a PS4.

 

I am sure you can appreciate that those that support the system do not want to see the kinectless version. Once developers note that not all the systems have kinects then we will see less and less integration within the games. Drop the kinect and we have,
another, mid range PC in a box with no redeeming features. For me it would be probably back to the PC full time then.

To begin with I find it a bit silly people are making their final judgement on new hardware shortly after launch. Any company will try and fix the major issues on launch and then concentrate on improving the rest. The system interface is already working
well IMO and I wouldn't now be without it. Has it been implemented well in games yet? Not in my opinion, Fighter Within isn't the best for sure and I have turned it off in DR3 for grapples. But before launch we got to see exactly what the new Kinect was capabale
of receiving and we are now just waiting for a Dev to push the innovative piece of gear. I have kids so even seeing themselves on screen amuses them and I am sure they will love Kinect Sports, great party games like that will arrive too.

I find it a bit daft that people don't buy the system until they drop the kinect, which unfortunately I do see happening in the future. It hasn't even got going yet and people already doubt it. Besides if you really need to be without it get it straight
on Ebay. Some people want spares others are using it in advanced robotics and other projects. I am sure a brand new Kinect will recoup some of that lost $100 or whatever it is.

 

If the extra $100 wasn't a problem you would just purchase a Xbox one and leave the Kinect in the box. That would be a huge mistake IMO, I really like the Kinect features, and use them all the time. You sound old enough to know better, MS isn't going to
be watching millions of people. This coming from someone probably old enough to be your Dad.

 

deeming yourself important enough to be spied on 24/7 by ms or the cia or whoever the latest spy people of the kinect world are.

People act like they have bomb making facilities in there house or people want to watch some fat semi naked gamer raging at his tv, several million times over day in day out.

Also if it did scan for targeted advertising reasons i probably wouldn't worry about that either, i am sick of seeing irrelevant adverts piled in my face day in day out so would be nice to have some adverts that are relevant to products i am interested in rather
than netflix n whatever other tv/movie crap they put on my dash

 

If I were, and I am not for all those law enforcement agents trolling this forum, making bombs I would use the camera block that came with the TV mount for my Kinect. Then I would still be able to use the voice commands. Or I could just tape a piece of paper
over the camera. Trust me people who get away with illegal activity aren't all lucky. It takes brains. If this weren't true everyone who has ever done anything illegal would have been caught. IMHO I hope they are watching. They would get a show they wouldn't
soon forget.

 

That's easy to answer, Virtual Duck, because I don't like the whole camera always watching me thing, I have yet to see one Kinect game worth a ***, and it's my dime and my prerogative.

 

When in the camera actually on after start up? I only ever see it in Battlefield.
