Harry you got Outlast? Is that game any good? I think you had it when I check out my buddylist. Wanted to check out the forum but I see that game doesn't have a forum to check out yet. Guess the devs for that game didn't ask for a forum? Also I increased
the skills for the difficulty on Forza 5. But then you only get 10 cars on the track then?

Kinda bummed about that. Started out last then jumped to 5 and I was like I passed 10 cars already? Then looked and noticed 5th place of 10 cars. I was like meh... You and I were fighting for 5th and 6th place. Then I finally got passed you around a
corner. Then caught up to the rest and got first.

 

It's not bad. I wouldn't have wanted to pay $60 for it but at the $20 price point it's not a bad purchase.

 

@DTW Dirty Harry - I too would put it on unbeatable, but like you said the races aren't long enough to allow for a catch up and since you start so far at the back all the time, it's almost pointless.

That's what I've always hated about Forza, tbh. At least with FM3 and earlier, you could control your starting position based on your car's PI. Starting with FM4, you're at the middle/back of the pack every single time, regardless.

I really wish they'd do something to make career mode more like...oh I dunno, an actual racing career? At least give us the option to participate in a qualifying session. Maybe take a look at other racing series like F1 for example where the emphasis is
not so much on winning every race, but on team objectives and improving every race. Forza has always lacked that overarching sense that what I'm doing actually matters and counts for something. "Racing" has been vastly oversimplified, and reduced to "get
1st place at all costs, and keep repeating until you do."

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the series, but "career" is really just a bunch of one-off sprint races. I feel like I shouldn't have to look to multiplayer and join a racing league if I want more than that. But I guess I'm in the minority, since it's
apparent that the folks at T10 do not share the same view.

I couldn't agree with you more and have been thinking the exact same thing for years.

Every race could start with a qualifying lap to see who get pole, or if they don't want to do that, at least make the starting grid completely random so that one race we are 2nd and the next we are 8th etc, etc.

I don't mind the whold Gold, Silver or Bronze system they have going now because at least I don't have to fight for 1st all the time and keep restarting until I do. I'll happily settle for Gold whether that be 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

I would also like a deeper career mode and think the one-off sprint races take away from a seaon/career feel, especially those unecessary bowling pin, chase and auto-cross events. I dislike them with a passion and are just a waste of (my) time.

Dude, I used to hate when people would do that to me because I knew, most likely, if they didn't wreck me they had no chance. I've still never played FM4 online. Hahaha. It's because I don't have a wheel and for me that's a big handicap. With a wheel I was
always top 1% but without I'm between top 1% to 5%.

 

Haha the ol safety cushion tactic. I do that from time to time against the AI when I absolutely need to to secure a placing. Cheap I know, but it's more convenient than restarting a 5 minute+ race

 

I never played this online yet. People probably hate me if I did. Broke down and ordered BF4 used off of Amazon. Should get it early next week. Got desperate for a shooter. $24 not bad.

 

I don't like dirty tricks. I think I'll put up another post re: the same.
