Drive really slow to recognize discs...

I can't find this issue anywhere else. When I insert a disc, it sits there (with the insert disc icon still up) for up to 5 minutes before it realizes there is a disc inserted. This just started happening recently (could be an update issue?).. I am just
hoping my drive isn't dying (had a BD drive on my PC do this and then it suddenly died).

Any ideas?

XBox One disc goes back into console on ejection

I've had issues with my disc drive from day one, unfortunately. Sometimes I can put a disc in and it reads it fine, other times I have to insert and eject the disc ten times before it finally recognizes it. =/

Install Game option does not appear

If the discs are scratched and or broken, the Xbox will not read them. What you can try doing is renting them, installing the respected games from the rented disc. Luckily, your Xbox recognizes the discs though the imperfections so you'll be fine. The
Xbox will need to be able to recognize the game before allowing it to be ran from the hard drive.

Regardless, it could be something with corrupted files causing slow recognition (maybe?)

Anyhow, I would do the standard troubleshooting. Perform a hard reset on the console, clear the persistent storage, delete and redownload your profile.

..Tried on my 2 Xboxes (both with Philips drive) but game won't load

Hi, There has never been a disc drive app that tells you if the disc in the drive or not. If the drive recognizes a disc, then it will show, if it doesn't, then it wont. That is how it has always been.

Is the disc at least recognized? Are CDs or Blu Rays recognized?

The disc function is not connected to the xbl core service. So it may be an issue with your disc drive. As there were lots of problems with drives not reading game discs properly, but reading movie or music discws, your console ma ybe in need of some service.

Meanwhile as workaround you may try holding the disc a second longer when the drive tries to take it and then release the disc.

I remember downloaded MW3 to the hard drive, but starting up was still slow since my disc was scratched but not really much different. I could play more games to test it!
