Drive not playing anything, sound sometimes not working...

Hi Guys,

I have an XBONE as I got talked into this by my boss who has been using XBOX for s long time. I did have the original XBOX but I think I jumped on too soon with the XBOX 360 as no HDMI etc on mine otherwise I probably would have used it more.

I now have the XBONE but I keep finding I am having issues with it like when waking it up the sound doesn't work or it wont play my disks or it wont sign in automatically.

Are these just software glitches? All I can do it get round them is power of the machine from the mains and start again which is far from ideal.

Does anyone know if there is a patch coming out for this? or is it wishful thinking?

Xbox S Loud DVD Drive

Hello,

I noticed that my DVD drive is working pretty loud sometimes. Espacially when there are cut-scenes in L.A. Noir or when I am playing Back Ops. It sounds like clattering (don't know if this is the correct english term).

Sometimes it gets really loud.

Is this normal?

Yep, love killing chumps with no skill like you and watching them come in here crying about it.

 

most of them are software problems, i hate to tell it to you but most of those software problems go away when you do a factory reset

 

Hey there, GrumGrum7! Sorry to see you're having a few issues with your new console. Are you getting any error codes with these, especially with it not reading discs?

No errors or error codes, sorry just doesn't display the disc looks like there is no disc

Yer pretty much, most recent one was Wolfenstein but reboot helped. I suppose it because I use the standby where you can say "xbox on" as aposed to having it off all the time.

 

That is super weird, because even Instant On shouldn't be doing that.

The first thing that I would suggest is instead of just a normal reboot you do a hard reboot. Hold the power button for about 10 seconds until it shuts off and see if that helps. If that doesn't work, I do suggest a factory reset.

Finally, if neither of those help, you may need a repair. You can set one up via our

Contact Us page.

Please do post up your results! I'd like to know what resolved this for you, even if it ends up being the repair.
