    Drifting. Whats the attraction?

I'm not opposed to it but I'm curious. Can someone please enlighten me on what is the point of driving sideways? How did this become a thing and what makes it fun? I'm just looking for a better understanding of this as it makes no sense to me.

    :)

    Expansion pack.

Not sure what on though. Most likely drifting.

    What makes you think drifting?

There may be some drifting as there were some drifting medals in FM4 but I would predict a more all round set of medals where you can choose to get the drifiting medal or something else.

There may even just be drive so many miles.

Kinda pointless to drift when there's not one event for it. I love drifting. Any word if there will be a drifting event in FM4 career?

God I hope not. Drifting is what kept me away from GRiD. Liked the other aspects, but couldn't stand the drifting. If I buy a racing game, I want to
race. Say what you like, but drifting is not racing. Keep it similar to how it was in FM3...drifting is there if you want to do it, but don't force me to do it to progress in my career.

The point of drifting is to be able to go around corner's a bit more sharply. What makes this fun? I honestly don't know, but I feel like there is some sort of psychological aspect as to why people enjoy it.

  5. I don't know if it helps you take a corner more sharply as you're basically gliding through it with a loss of traction. My understanding has always been that the more traction you consistently maintain on a track the more you continue to propel forward.
So drifters aren't normally looking to make better times as opposed to just gracefully gliding through the track.

For the most part I believe (at least for me) the fun in drifting is pretty much the same fun most people experience with racing games...the fact that you're driving an incredibly powerful racing machine at ludicrous speeds and trying to maintain control
of it while doing it. For drifters, they purposely force the car into a controlled "loss of control". So the fun is in seeing how far you can lose control while the whole while, still being in control.

Plus there's something kinda fun about gracefully sliding through turns at 200 mph without hitting the guard rails lol.

"Call of Duty “has almost ruined a generation of shooter players,” says Tripwire Interactive"

I don't think Call of Duty is the heart of the problem. Call of Duty in itself is okay. We have a fast paced shooter that is arcadey and doesn't stress you with things like lots of skill. It's fun to kick back and shoot a couple guys here and there, willy-nilly.

    -

The problem is the people it attracts. It attracts the stupid people all about YOLO and SWAG through it's marketing. These people are over competitive idiots. They think they can turn the modern Call of Duty games into competitive grounds, which can't really
    be done.

    -

I don't know if any of you catch my drift, but thats where I think the problem is.
