Drifting controller!

Hey Guys,

Have been chatting to an adviser on Xbox live chat regarding the drift on my Xbox One's controller. I have been redirected to here to resolve the issue, as I am a preview member, I was told I would get a free replacement, but had to do it through here.

I was given a reference number that links to my account - any ideas where I start?

Not quite understanding what you mean by centerpoint. Is the controller drifting up? For steps on drifting controllers, check out our

Xbox One Controller Troubleshooter. Unfortunately for drifting issues, the controller would need to be repaired or replaced depending on your warranty status.

Really? I don't think anyone here will be able to get you a replacement controller. You will have to go through support for that and it will depend on if your controller is still under warranty or not. I wish you good luck.

I have the same problem they told me to buy new controller and I am not buying another controller since it's their faulty parts to blame and I am really thinking about going to get ride of my xbox one and my sons and getting ps4 they keep telling people
to come and post here but they do nothing about it and it *** me off

Hello

If it was an Ambassador or phone/chat support that sent you here then they were wrong in doing so, the only thing you can do against stick drift is to either get it repaired through the
https://myservice.xbox.com/ website

(if it's within 90 days of purchase it's free for default controllers, elite controllers could have a longer warranty )

If you're out of warranty you might be better off purchasing a new controller since the combination of shipping and repair costs are almost equal or greater than the cost of a new controller.

I had the same issue and even though it was documented WAAAAAAY before my controller had issues, they basically told me I was S.O.L. This issue should be a recall and not off set to the consumers pocket! Sounds like a class action suit in the making...

If your controllers drifting, rather get it replaced if its brand new.

I just got a Xbox controller for Christmas. And as soon as I connected it to my Xbox it had drift on the right joystick. I opened the controller right from the box and didn’t get any dust of anything like that near it but still it drifts. I wanted a new Xbox controller because my old controller had drift. Crazy how out of the box it already has drift.

That is strange. I've only ever had stick drift on my old 360 controllers. I don't know if the standard Xbox one controllers have it, but the Xbox Elite controller sticks can be adjusted to have dead zones to avoid drift. Check in the Xbox Accessories
app if you can adjust it for normal controllers.

Have my elite controller set up and still drifts. Can't do standard controller. Did notice they drift worse on any COD.

If the controller has a drifting issue then you will have to wait for the replacement. There really is no fix for drifting issues that I know of.
