Drift on firmware?

I bought a brand new controller and right out of the box it has a right stick drift. Why can you not fix this Microsoft rather than just say return if its under warranty? Apparently you don't have it calibrated correctly and should update the firmware according
to only those that have a drift. To pay $150.00 for a broken controller is irresponsible and lazy. Fix this or people will start bad mouthing your product ....duh!

I bought the extended warranty from bestbuy so I'll take MY own time and get another new one until I get one that works ...

Some people may not notice this...go to setting and configure the controller thru using edit...once there click on both left and right and watch the center circle...it will move up or down on its own ...your controller is broken and being sold not intended
for normal use...no one likes to run around looking up or down...

Xbox One Controller, left stick faulting!!!

I have two controllers BOTH with drift issues. The one left thumb-stick drifts upwards and the other one has a right thumb-stick drift issue that drifts upward.

Like what the heck am I suppose to do. #SMH

You probably just got a defective unit.

If you bought your controller brand new from Best Buy, you should be able to simply exchange it for a working one, especially with the fact that you've purchased an extended warranty.

That's called stick drift and has nothing to do with this firmware issue. Your controller is broken, you can have Microsoft fix it for a fee or replace it. But no software update will fix stick drift.

If I understand this correctly, both controllers are drifting? If so, the firmware might need to be updated and/or the controllers need to be reconnected to the console.

after the firmware update, my LS drifts North. If I'm on the main screen, it moves from the center tile to the upper left and stays there. When in a list of options, it will cycle through the options endlessly -- unless interrupted. When playing a game,
it seems to drift forward/up until interrupted. it will resume the drift at predicable intervals.
