Finally tried out the MP at the weekend and completed the challenge for the special event (got a rare bow and character skin!)

Surprisingly addictive!

 

Took down my first Dragon last night, it wasnt even the lowest level one I came across.

Epic battle, got a real sense of achievment from finishing him off!!

Two mages are essential I would say. Each with the barrier spell equipped.

Have to say parts of the game are starting to feel like a grind now. I wanna skip the side quests but i feel like i will be missing out not doing the side quests.

Can anyone enlighten me as to whether its worth opening the doors in the forbidden oasis before continuing with the story or can is it still useful after the main story.

 

It's usefull to buff your three magic defences, fire, cold and spirit, you get some average loot. I need eighteen shards to open the last door but don't know where they are in any area. Only ocular im I know of is guarded by a badass dragon with cold
damage and armour in the Du Lion area. I am at a part in the story where I need to beat a boss to progress but if you lose the whole scene starts again along with all dialogue options which is a pain. I gave up after three attempts as got bored. I have
grinded out the majority of side quests (I think) and have to say most of them were underwhelming with poor rewards. I have taken down two dragons with a two rogue, one warrior and a Mage but it wasn't easy.

I got a quick few minutes to play around with the character creation. It's really in depth, I was surprised with how unique you can make yourself look. I'm kind of digging the gothic sort of look I have on my dude.

 

I killed my first dragon today too, albeit only the weak dragon in Hinterlands and I used 3 mages and a rogue archer! I'm not looking forward to taking on the Badass Dragon in Du Lion which protects the final Ocular I need. I feel as though I'm dragging
it out a bit now just because I don't want it end, but the end is nigh I think although I do think the line between sidequest and main quest blurs a bit because it all adds progression. I still need to bone one of my companions and I'm proving to be no Cassanova!

 

The only 2 dragons I had a problem with were the lightning ones.

It is worth trying to open the door in the oasis as the belts you get are handy for fighting the dragons

 

Killed all 10 Dragons!!!

Had to do the last one twice as the cheevo is glitched so make sure you save just before killing your last dragon.

The hardest dragon is definately the highland ravager. That was a pain. All in all though with 2 mages a rtouge and a warrior they were all pretty easy.

I have now collected all the shards, i have about 3/4 locations and landmarks to find, 3 songs and 1 bottle left to find and im nearly good for 100%

i may actually progress the story at some stage too lol.

 

as for armour and weapons, kill a few dragons and get some fade touched items, find a masterwork schematic and you can make items better than anything in the game. I have an armour that gives me guard when i get hit even when i have barrier up and a perk
that increases my barrier with every weapon strike, I am nearly invincible now.

Love the crafting in this game.

 

It's weird to be honest. I've heard many people praising barrier and how it can make them nearly invincible but many of them were the same people who complained about the talents in the first Mass Effect that let you do the same thing.

Then again I suppose it could have been that the enemies also had that same ability.

 

Im not guna lie it does feel kinda cheap, especially as i play as a mage with barrier and have Vivienne in my party with barrier.

I suppose this is what they get for taking away the mage healing abilities.

I just wish i remember which masterwork material gave me guard every time i get hit? Wanna kit up the rest of my party with the same.

 

I lost interest in this for some reason. Having more fun in Kyrat at the moment. Will resume at some point. Still happy to coop though.

 

I cant give it up. Im going to be so sad when its all over and i have only put in 85 hours.

I dont have the luxury of Kyrat at the moment. Holding off untill this is done. Then Mordor, Then Unity. Aghhh so many games.
