If TESO was for the 360 for then that argument would be valid.

But it's not.

It's for the ONE and buying a ONE without buying LIVE would be stupid as would be complaining that you need Gold to access this online game.

ESO is also going to be available for the PS4 which you don't need ps+ to play.

For info purposes you need PS+ on ps4 to play online, only the mmo's and free to play games don't require a plus subscription.

So yes it is greed by MS.

 

I think anyone who pays what they are going to pay (£120 + a year if subbed throughout) will be happy with what they have. If it was me, for that amount of money, I would want something that would really take my gaming life away. Something like:

• A world that gets expanded at no extra cost.
• Vast amounts of things to do and explore with surprises even months after release.
  
• No gold sub wall. I agree with vote 100% its unnecessary and there is no consumer logic.
  

There is obviously a lot more to that then what I am putting but something along those lines is what I would need to justify investing that much money into. Though that's just me.

No.

Suggesting people would buy the XBox ONE but not an XBox LIVE subscription remains both ridiculous and silly.

If this was on the 360 where LIVE is not an integral part of pretty much ever game released on the console then it would be a fair point but again for the ONE...

It's not.

 

You can flip that on its head and say 'suggesting people who would buy an MMO but not a subscription remains both ridiculous and silly'. You can do things with a ONE without a Live subscription but you can't do crap with an MMO if you're not going to pay.

Xbox One is the only platform to impose this extra paygate, which is very ridiculous and silly.

 

All that aside, I think ESO looks pretty awful.

 

I've been hearing mixed views about ESO from the PC community, I just wonder though if where they are spoilt for choice with games like this that expect a lot more than what a console gamer would?

I'm still going to give it a try, it's Elder Scrolls I just could resist

 

Same here ^ the few I know who have played a little of it say that its nothing special.

And if you want to discuss the game you're not allowed to do so on the official Bethesda Forums. Your thread is locked and you are told to go talk about it on the official TESO forums which you're not allowed to post on.

But it's not all doom and gloom.

October is a bit of a wait but it will be nice to see what happens when EA Bioware have a go at the "Elder Scrolls" formula (which is different from the TESO formula).

 

So long as I get to run around in my pants stealing vegetables in TESO I'll be happy!

I know they're only screenshots but this game is looking a tad on the good side methinks.

Rather looking forward to losing many many hours playing this.
