Dragon Age Inquisition with Warden Alistair

I've been replaying Inquisition with Alistair as the Warden. It randomly hit me today: "Why can't we ask Alistair about his adventures and/or former companions?" He mentions he used to fight with the Hero of Ferelden
and helped kill the Archdemon. I'm curious about everyone's thoughts on this. Why do you think there aren't any options to bring it up or ask about it?

That is a really good question, actually...

I'm assuming that perhaps your character doesn't want to pry or intrude, or maybe they don't want to know what kind of companionship he had with his former companions since he is a romance option. Otherwise, I don't really see any other explanation for this
to be quite honest. It may have also been cut content from the game.

It could be a very dark backstory or maybe lead into a side game in the future maybe or maybe his character chooses not to speak of it for some reason it is quite interesting

Well, its because his adventures were with "you" as the hero of ferelden in dragon age 1 and 2, so he won't refer to it in case it did not match the route you took in the game. Did you not play the first 2? you should already know what happened as you
played as the hero of ferelden and killed the archdemon.

I've never actually thought about that before. Now you've gotten me wanting to go and play Dragon Age again. Dang. I'm gonna have to get back to you on that one.
