    Hi there,

    I'm having an issue with Dragon Age: Inquisition on Xbox One. I've talked online with Xbox Support and EA Support several times each, and together we've identified the exact problem. The solution is simple, yet each company insists that they are powerless
    to act.

    Here is the issue. I bought Dragon Age (the non-Deluxe Edition) several months ago, and have been happily playing it. I'm several hundred hours into the game. Recently, I visited a friend's house, signed into his Xbox, synced my data from
    the cloud, and played on my game save there. Worked great. After returning home, I signed into my own Xbox, synced my data, and tried to load my game save. Instead of loading, however, Dragon Age gave me the following error:

    "Unable to load save data as required downloadable content is missing. Please download the content again." (And then it lists the Deluxe Edition content and some Flames of the Inquisition items.)

    Remember, I never purchased the Deluxe Edition!

    Turns out, the problem is that my friend DID purchase the Deluxe Edition. And when I played on his console, it silently and irrevocably "upgraded" my save to the Deluxe Edition, without asking me or warning me. And now my game save won't work on any console
    that lacks the DLC---including my own.

    Xbox support and EA support both agree with this explanation of events. And they both agree that the only way to avoid losing my hundreds of hours of progress is to add the DLC to my console. However, each insists that it is beyond their power to credit
    my account with the DLC, or even to credit my account with ten bucks so I can buy the DLC.

    Please understand that I'm not about to spend any amount of my own money to reward a game for holding my progress hostage. I've already spent far more than $10 of Microsoft's money by using their support team and supervisors, and I'll probably spend more,
    because I can't believe that nobody in Xbox support is capable of crediting my account with $10. This post is my last ditch effort to save the company some hassle and support costs. Why should it be so hard for Microsoft to do right by a loyal
    customer? If anyone sees this, please throw me a bone here.

    What Would You Want as a Remastered Xbox 360 game on XB1

    I also agree with State of Decay.

    Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II would be good, then we could transfer our saves to Dragon Age Inquisition.

    Hey,

    That's awful really. The only thing I could suggest is to go higher at each, ask to speak to management and explain it. Perhaps more or less this copy and pasted in various emails.

    If it were me I would probably pay for the DLC, which I would be peeved about as none of that content interested me, then follow up for some sort of refund. Perhaps even if it means Live free for x months.

    You probably have but have you tried going back a few saves?

After researching your issue extensively, I discovered this issue and the solution via The Dragon Age: Inquisition support page Dragon Age: Inquisition Save Importer (ea.com). On the site, scroll down to Migrating Your Dragon Age: Inquisition Savegame and Profile on Xbox. Here is some additional information on this specific issue.

    Xbox consoles:

    • If you have preorder promotional items or Flames of the Inquisition items installed on your Xbox 360 console at the time of the export, you can import the savegame data on your Xbox One console.
      • If you do not have the same content installed on your Xbox One console, the save game loads, and you must equip alternate equipment and/or armor.
      • If you have the same content installed on your Xbox One console, the savegame loads as it appeared on the Xbox 360 console.
    Xbox consoles:

    • An online connection.
    • An Xbox 360 console system with a Dragon Age: Inquisition savegame.
    • A copy of Dragon Age: Inquisition for Xbox 360 with The Black Emporium free DLC pack installed.
    • Logged into your EA account in Dragon Age: Inquisition for your Xbox 360 console.
    • An Xbox One console.
    • A copy of Dragon Age: Inquisition for Xbox One with The Black Emporium free DLC pack installed.
    • Logged into your EA account in Dragon Age: Inquisition for your Xbox One console.
    Finally, the EA Play, Game Pass version of Dragon Age Inquisition is not the Ultimate or Game of the year edition. It is the base game. Did you own that addition digitally, or have the disc still? The support guide I provided provides the answers to why you are experiencing this issue. I hope these suggestions help!
