The big difference between DA:O and DA2 was the depth. Removing gear slots, character customization, etc. simplified the game to much.

When Bioware's name is associated with a tactical RPG there is extremely high expectations from a generation of gamers that played BG and NWN. They were one of the kings of the Infinity and Aurora engines, you don't fix what's not broken. They started down
that path with DA:O and ME but then headed off into a very bad direction.

  2. No arguments there Rand, it's just control wise Origins and DAII are the same. Yet with inquisition they have 'fixed' what wasn't broken, they've changed the control scheme for no reason other than they could.

Being a suspicious man I would say that the new control scheme is in place to create a better multiplayer experience.

It's the lack of tactics for my party though that really irritates.

Yep, no formations other than defend/follow. The lack of a healer also seems to fit into your "game designed around multiplayer" theory. Easier to give everyone pots in MP and not require specific rolls to be filled.

I've played a few hours of this now and I'm still undecided on it, I pretty much have no idea what's going on so just roaming aimlessly for a bit until I get used to it all.

    ^^

Get used to roaming aimlessly. You'll spend a large amount of time trying to get from point A to point B in a very un-open world. The open questing areas are very difficult to navigate with a very linear layout that only has one or two routes to your destinations.

I just stepped off a two foot wall to an open dirt area and was reset for being "out of area".

  6. ^that actually makes it a little easier for me because I didn't understand how I'd be walking around and end up at the same area. So there is no bashing through the centre of the maps to get from a to b faster? Or what feels like it's faster anyway, because
I was trying that and wasn't having much luck.

They'll be paths that will take you to your destination. I was trying the same thing....some hills are easily climbable and others although the same steepness you can't climb. Some areas will just reset you even though there is no reason you shouldn't be
    able to go that route.

It's very time consuming. I would have rather had a shorter, less open game if it kept me involved in the main quest line. The open world collection quest required to advance the main story become boring quickly.

Hello everyone Dragon Age: Inquisition = Bye Bye Life :)

I just picked-up my six 32 GB Flash Drives and installed Dragon Age 2.

I am going to attempt to beat Dragon Age 2 for the fourth time and hopefully I will be able to get past the midway point of the game.

Have a nice day or afternoon or night everyone Dragon Age: Inquisition = Bye Bye Life :)

  9. Interestingly enough Inquisition on the PC is a better experience with a controller than with the keyboard and mouse. Bioware are getting hit quite badly on their own forum by PC players complaining about the poor controls.

I already owned Dragon Age 2 way before I got Dragon Age Inquisition.

I chose 192 GBs of Flash Drive Space instead of Dragon Age Inquisition.

Mine finally just showed up at the door, so much for release day guarantee!

Am I going crazy or is MS just not caring anymore.

They are pretty positive we will all just keep buying aren't they.

For the people playing the digital version ...

Have you had any issues with freezing? I ask because I plan to download it but read on various sites a few that have the digital complain of freezing and a constant black screen?

    Hello everyone :)

Is Dragon Age Inquisition as good or better than Dragon Age Origins?

I love the Dragon Age series, but Dragon Age 2 was BORING. Dragon Age 2 is a great game indeed, but it really pales in comparison to the epicness of Dragon Age Origins :)

Have a nice day or afternoon or night everyone :)
