    Dragon Age Inquisition any good?

It's on sale for €20.00. I'm not a huge fan of Bioware games, but I've seen a few reviews and it looks okay. I just want something to play. I want to jump in on the hardest difficulty. How difficult is it really on a scale of 1 to 10?

Is it worth it for €20.00. I'm not expecting it be be as good as The Witcher 3. I'd like to complete it fully and it doesn't seem like there are any co-op achievements.

Any other opinions on this game?

    :)

    Dragon Age Inquisition any good?

Brilliant game & a steal at that price.

Think I clocked up over 100 hours on it & I still didn't do everything.

Difficulty wise i'd say about 8/10 on the hardest difficulty.

I've had this downloaded from EA Access for a while now, I should really give it a go.

It's ok, but overrated imho, it's still a decent RPG just don't compare to the glory of the Witcher, I played on normal and found it challenging, in fact the game stopped me dead in my tracks as I couldn't beat a certain part with my character build and
companion choices, too much micro management for me, and not open world like Skyrim, Fallout, Witcher etc.

It gets boring after awhile. I stopped playing and haven't had the urge to invest the time required to finish it.

But a decent RPG if you have some time to kill.

    Dragon Age Inquisition any good?

Thanks guys. So I'm guessing I shouldn't play on the hardest difficulty at the start.

  9. Thanks guys. So I'm guessing I shouldn't play on the hardest difficulty at the start.

I'd go along with Genchy's statement in regards to difficulty. The thing I noticed is that there is a certain type of 'task' that you need to complete, multiple instances are strewn throughout the different zones in the game. Every 'zone'
has a range of levels that are best suited for that zone. Nothing unusual there. I found that in many, if not all zones, there were certain 'tasks' that were much harder than others of the same kind.

I had to out level a lot of the zones and return to complete those tasks... something I'm not really a fan of. I like to clear it and move on, but that's one of few complaints I had.

I'm a bit biased toward this kind of game, but even taking that into consideration, I'd say it's worth the sale price IMO. I picked it up the first time it went on "publisher's sale" and I don't regret it.

Edit: Just wanted to add, it most definitely pays to use the stuff you pick up and upgrade your NPC squad mates with good equipment. At least in my experience. Don't think I could've done certain parts without having a capable squad with
ability points applied and at least semi-decent gear equipped.

So after you beat the game can you free roam, level up and then complete other quests? Or can you free roam leveling up continously until you're leveled up enough for certain "tasks"?

  11. Basically, there is a soft cap on leveling. Once you're so many levels above enemies, you won't gain XP for defeating them. Therefore, the only way to keep leveling up is to defeat enemies within a level or 2 under/over your own, gaining less or more XP
    respectively.

You can continue to play and level up after completing the story line, but I don't know much about that aspect (other than how the leveling works). Pretty sure you can free roam all you want. I tend to see the final boss fight as "the end" in any game...
even if there is plenty more to do, or even more leveling, which there is... I just tend to lose interest. I've actually started new characters rather than continued games because of it. But that's just me.

From my experience, it's possible to complete the main story and not be max level. I've done it on both of my play throughs. From what I understand, you can also reach max level in a single play through without seeing everything in the game, but I can't
    attest to that.

Liked the customization for my character.

It was OK with Carth, Mission, and Bastia but "Dragon Age" wants to you to supervise the entire Rebel Alliance on this adventure.

On the Ebon Hawk I didn't mind running around checking on my Companion's feelings but in "Dragon Age" it started to dread having to make the rounds to see how everybody felt.

It's a huge game. So big that everyone is going to easily be able to find a pet peeve in the game.

It's definately something that should be experienced and is a definate step in the right direction after the original "Dragon Age" and yet further progress in the evolution of the genre.

    Do you have EA Access?

If so I'm sure this is or is being added to the games you can grab at no extra cost!

Brilliant game though! I put well over a 100 hours on my first play through and didn't see everything! And I'm probably one of a few that preferred it to Witcher 3 ( which I still think is brilliant ) but just preferred the story, characters ...

    Highly recommended.
