Dragon Age: Inquisition didn't win Game of the Year for nothin....

 

Mario cart 8 won over Horizon 2. Reasons I don't watch award shows.

 

^^ Mario Kart 8 is so fun though. I've played it for so many hours so far.

 

No surprise at the GOTY choice.

Also Shadow of Mordor won best Action game. Well deserved.

 

Good to see Far Cry 4 win. There really isn't any shooter that even comes close.

 

I'm happy to see DA get GOTY. That's awesome and surely well deserved.

 

Just like in Movie Award ceremonies- The newest games are freshest in the minds, therefore reap most of the benefits. I will say that I am pleased Far Cry 4 got best shooter, and Destiny best Multiplayer. Nintendo dev of the year though... that's iffy in
every sense. Kinda odd that Dragon Age ONLY won Game of the year, and nothing else. Does that happen a lot?

 

Wolfenstein would take best shooter over FC4. Granted I haven't play FC4 but I have played 3 and it looks similar.

 

So like a month ago, there was this thread about someone wanting EA to make a Bruce Lee game. And then some tool came in and acted like it wouldn't work because EA never publishes anything good. So I explained how absurd that was since EA was releasing the
2014 Game of the Year in a few weeks.

So then a small debate ensued because he was trying to judge the future based on the past. I explained the differences in the development cycle of that game and this one, and boldly proclaimed that Inquisition would be nothing less than Game of the Year.

Since then, whenever someone asks if the game is good or looking for suggestions on what game to buy, I always say the same thing. Dragon Age: Inquisition GOTY 2014. How did that work out again?

 

@ RippenHarra, I have played both a lot and Far Cry 4 is light years better than Wolfenstein.

 

I was rooting for Shadow of Mordor in GOTY but I'm glad it didn't walk away empty handed. I think I'm going to pick up DA though after everything I've heard about it.

 

I'm glad to see it win. Bioware seems to have put a ton of effort into this iteration of Dragon Age. I bought it a week ago, but I haven't gotten around to playing it just yet unfortunately. All of the praise & awards
being thrown at it makes me want to play it as soon as possible though.

 

I'm not happy with these winners at all - my list would've been completely different... :|
