Dragon Age 2: Games with Gold: Won’t Download.

PSA FOR THOSE HAVING TROUBLE DOWNLOADING 360 GWG TITLES ON XB ONE

I was having a bit of a problem downloading Dragon Age 2 on my Xbox One S this past week. I would click on the game in my Games with Gold tab, click on ‘See Price’ (since its a 360 game, its normal to have to do this). But then I would get an error saying
“This service is currently unavailable, please try again later.”

Ok, so I went on about my day and tried again later. Same message appeared.

I went and played other games, thinking it was getting looked into, and checked back the next day. Same message.

It is now day 3 and I still couldn’t download the game through the Xbox One UI.

My solution was to find the game on the Xbox Live website via PC ( actually I used my phone but either works ) and ‘purchase’ it for free. Only then did it finally give me an option to install the game through my Xbox One interface.

I am now happily downloading Dragon Age 2 to my console! I wanted to make an announcement here for anyone having trouble with this title or any other 360 titles in the future. If you can’t download it on your XB One, try going through the website on a seperate
device.

Thank you, I was just providing a work-a-round for people who at least wanted to “purchase” the game before the Games with Gold deal runs out.

This is a wonderful workaround suggestion that I frequently use myself too, cheers for letting us know that it’s a viable alternative to the console marketplace. Now if only I had the time to play this game...never did!

I dont think a service is down. The only game that isnt downloading for me is dragon age 2. I tried to download other backwards compatable games and they worked fine. This probably has something to do with dragon age 2’s update.
