Downloding xbox 360 games onto xbox one

Will the xbox one be getting an application to download/stream 360 games ? I know ps4 have done this and it will be launching soon.

Soon, lol yeah right! it'll be 2015 at the earliest for us in Europe. There was a rumour going around that ms might try something similar with their cloud system.

I tried that onlive which is virtually the same thing as Gakia but didn't really like it as it felt like playing a video and then obviously a bit of latency.

 

On PS4 it will work the same way as onlive and I can tell you from experience, if you have a connection slower that 6Mbps download and 2Mbps upload, don't bother, it will lag, you will press a button on the controller and a second later the action will be
done on screen, and If you do have a really fast connection like I have you will still see a little bit of lag and eat between 2GB and 4GB per hour of data, also the quality of the picture can be sub HD most of the time. the internet is not a good place for
streaming gaming.

 

^^^ Yeah, I've got a rapid connection and Onlive, whilst being an interesting concept, did suffer from the odd bit of input lag (not what you want if you're playing online multiplayer) and really does cane data usage. I'm on an unlimited package, but if
you're not or your ISP has a ropey fair usage policy you could be screwed.

Sadly for most people if Gaikai streams the same way as onlive, it won't be the greatest experience and could see them getting speed capped, etc.

The first company that does manage to nail this method of game delivery will be onto a real winner though as it makes the problems of cross-platform gaming virtually non-existent and eradicates cheating/modding/hacking/piracy.

It's just a PC so it depends on what operating system it's running. They come with SteamOS which is based on Debian 7.1. So any Linux games on Steam will work. Of course you could just install Windows and then play the entire Steam catalogue. Building a
gaming PC is better option though unless you really care about form factor.

It won't play Freelancer or Morrowind unless you install Windows to it.

 

The Steam argument means absolutely nothing. Its the users connection that is the issue. A couple of years maybe , then this can reach its potential

 

Is "Loren The Amazong Princess" running at a native 1080p then?
