Downloads slow down and eventually stop

Sorry I haven't been following the thread. I see minedaddy still seems to think he knows 10 times more than he does. My speeds have been very good for the past two weeks until last night I started experiencing the same issues again. This time it seems
more intermittent than before. Sometimes I get my normal speeds of around 40-50mb/s down and other times I get the 1-2mb/s down. This is definitely not on our ends as it's not affecting any other equipment. I tried to download overwatch on the xbox one
and it ran for 45 minutes and barely downloaded a gig. PS4 downloaded the entire 4.6gb in 15 minutes. @XGN azrael DNS changes make no difference with this issue. @Russ same with me, same ISP for years and no issues. I have buddies across down with the same
ISP as me and don't have any issues, which is very strange. It's one of the strangest issues I've come across. Every time I think I know where the problem resides something else throws that theory out the window. I guess the more people that speak up about
it the better and maybe we can get to the bottom of it. Or maybe minedaddy will grace us with the answer since he knows it all.

  2. Don't have it with games but with system updates. A 1.65Gb update for F1 2016 is as fast downloaded as a 350Mb system Update. I don't know what MS uses but I think they should contact Codemasters what they use. And Chat Support saying yeah there is nothing
    wrong here with our things.

I agree DBB, the system updates are terribly slow, they've always seemed to be like that whereas this issue is affecting the game and game update downloads.

Here is what I've notice on my system specifically today. As opposed to a few weeks ago where everything I tried to download was ridiculously slow, now it seems to affect only certain things.

I own powerstar golf. I uninstalled and re-downloaded it and it downloaded fine at around 50mb/s. Same for child of light, halo spartan assualt, and limbo. Each of those I have in my ready to install list and all download with correct speeds.

I went to the store and tried to download the PES demo and Doom demo, each of those did the issue where it stops at 12k for a second and then proceeds to download between 800kbps and 1-2mb/s.

Then I tried 2 free games Star Trek and Hawken, both downloaded slow exactly the same as the demos...800kbps-1mb/s.

Then I tried 2 game previews We Happy Few and ARK each of those downloaded slow as well.

After all that I uninstalled rocket league and then reinstalled and I get normal speeds of between 40-50mb/s down.

At least on my end right now it appears to be affecting games I don't own or have not downloaded prior. I could try to purchase a new game and see how that works, but I'm not going to use my money to troubleshoot what appears to be a microsoft problem.
I would really like someone from microsoft to chime in on this as they refuse to be willing to assist us now and continue to blame it on the user end or ISP end when it's obviously not.

Hello, just to chime in on the same issue with the Xbox One and " slow downloads ". I was originally not have any issues, but a friend who reported here was, so I was following his problem for the past month... This has changed.

As of today Sept 10 2016, I have been seeing the same slow speeds of less than 4mb/s when I normally see 40-50mb/s during downloading games/demo's I don't own.

I will note that I don't download much, so this might be the reason I was not seeing this issue until recently.

As reported by others, I have nothing else on my network that has any speed or network issues:

    *1-Xbox One, 1-360, 1-PS3, 2 PC clients/2 servers and a assortment of DVR's/NAS and other network devices.

ISP is COX using a Moto #5160 and a DLink DIR router with a few network switches.

All rooms in my house have CAT, so almost all my equipment is hardwired.

Testing my speeds are reporting as expected including the Xbox One.

Ports on the router are not an issue and nothing has changed that would cause this problem.

All MS Xbox T/S suggestions have been checked and further testing would be time wasted!

Hopefully MS support will respond with more people reporting on this issue!

Finally, if nothing is done by MS to correct or even acknowledge that there might be a problem, I would not only NOT recommend their product, but I will NOT be buying any new titles for this system unless the issue is corrected.

  5. @MineDaddy, call support? They don't know anything there the most. That you are not liked is obvious with your 3 stars. Further your amouth of GS show you don't play much different games, so not downloading much and so not much experience in this topic.
That you don't have it doesn't mean it not exist.

I have a great example: I had no issues with TES Skyrim on 360. But that does not mean that the game had no bugs. I know that that game had enough issues and I was just lucky I did not come across one.

  7. I have just purchased a new xbox one and it has taken so far 24hrs to download 32% of a new game although it say downloading at 1.73mb (the game is 44gb) I could have walk to the shops and bought the thing there if I had known that it would be this slow.

I am curious as to what type of modem and or router people that have this problem are using , there are certain brands / and models that xbox one has problems with maintaining a stable connection (even if all other devices are fine ) Arris , superhubs/homehubs
and technicolor are the worst ....it might be the latest update hit a few others ....

I'm having the same issue in the UK since the last system update... other equipment connected to my network gives my usual speeds of 40Mbps.

The Xbox One (original) now usually struggles to download any game or updates faster than 1-2Mbps. Occasionally I will get lucky & it will download at full speed, but only rarely.

Like others on the thread, this only started since the last system update, everything was fine before.

I have a BT Homehub 3 which has always performed fine in the past with both my Xbox 360 & Xbox One, both via wireless & Ethernet. I've tried the Google DNS servers as well as my standard ISP ones & it makes no difference.

Reached out to Xbox support via Twitter several times & not a single response, completely ignored.

    Hey everyone.

While issues are similar, it sounds like you're experiencing different issues. So that we can best help out, please create a new thread detailing your issue. If you haven't already, I recommend trying a quick power cycle by holding down the power button
    for 8-10 seconds.

If that doesn't help, let us know in your new thread. We're happy to help out Downloads slow down and eventually stop :)

I started nothing sir , if you go back and read I was attacked for simple stating what is and has been the norm in issues like this , user end , plan and simple ....99 times out of 100 ....unless of course it's widespread , which this wasn't ( except as
stated above with the slim in instant on ) and I stand by that , if one guys cleared up. something changed on his end......If on MS 's end , this place would have blown up.....

It might be , but to be sure , test on another network......it's still gona be users end most likely , users xbox , or users network or maybe the isp is doing something differant .....I just don't see any fix on Microsofts end as it doesn't seem that
    widespread to me...
