Downloads extremely slow

It is taking days to download game and still only 20%! You processed my payment in seconds? I would like what I paid for!

Extremely slow download

Thankyou for the replies brandiesel1, ItsJudgedrisk and Obsessive Power.

It eventually kicked back up to a normal speed. I'm not too sure, but I assume the problem was with my ISP at the time.

Little more info, it seems like the dashboard is the culprit. Trying to redeem my Halo 4 limited edition codes and it just hangs after I input the code. Like I said earlier, it downloaded the Halo 4 patch like a champ but of course I'm not on the dashboard
so I believe the dashboard has something to do with this.

Who is "you" ? FYI if it is Microsoft, they don't come in here for customer support...If you are looking for solutions, providing more specific information would be helpful.

I'm gonna guess you're talking to your ISP? Sounds like you have horrible internet. I thought this thread was from another forum member actually. lol

It's weird how on your computer you can download files super fast, but when it comes to doing it on your console, it takes more than twice as long. We have Vodafone High Speed Cable which does 100mb/s down and 10mb/s up, and on Xbox 360 when I downloaded
the Greek Mythology pack for Minecraft yesterday, it took 3 minutes to download a 70MB mash up pack. Microsoft servers are SLOW XD. Just look at the functionality of this website on the forum pages, you occasionally run into those uh oh that shouldn't of happened
pages, no matter what browser you use, not to mention how long it takes to load forum pages.

At the end of the day, no one has 'perfect internet', not even Microsoft. It's 2015 and no one can get reliable internet 100% of the time. I have a full Xbox 360 friends list, and me and my friends can relate that the internet/Xbox Live is not perfect and
it isn't always reliable. I live in NZ and my other NZ and Australian friends don't even enjoy 100% reliable Xbox Live service. It's good and fun, but it's never going to be perfect. 21st century technology isn't perfect.

START HERE! And post back in full detail (the bits that are in bold).

If you have a standard modem, could you try connect your console directly to this and verify if you can connect properly.

Could you tell us if UPnP is currently turned on or off.

Funny, the Halo 4 patch downloaded like a champ! Any app or demo I try to download takes forever but patches are downloading correctly.

I'm experiencing the same thing. Been trying to download Apocalypse DLC since yesterday and it hasn't even reached 50%. I'll come to find it's been disconnected from XBox Live so I have to reconnect and restart the download. Even when it's connected it's
super slow.

There are a alot of potential reasons why you are experiencing slow download rates.

*You might have to open ports on your router for xbox live services (more info here:

support.xbox.com/.../network-ports-used-xbox-live)

*Could be the servers you are downloading from are bussy and your just unlucky. (The bottleneck is at the service provider)

*Could also be the ethernet cable. It could be damaged, experiencing noice, or it could be an older cable with caped bandwidth (make sure it's a cat 5e or higher and not longer than 100 meters).
