Downloading videos (mp4 files) from Internet Explorer app.

Okay, so I recently went over my friends house to find out that a PS3 (I know, betraying my clan) can download videos onto it's hard drive. I was wondering if I could download videos onto my Xbox One using Internet Explorer, but
so far I haven't found a method other than using a memory stick.

Any help would be appreciated!

Streaming video from mobile to xbox one

So I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and you can play videos and hit the cast button and select xbox one as an option and stream them there. I have done this before with a video I took on the phone and it has worked; however, I tried to play a different video file, and .mp4, and when I chose the xbox one from the cast button, nothing happens, the video just continues playing on the phone. I do it while having the xbox video app open btw. So does the xbox not play .mp4? I know there are other options to stream, but this would be extremely convenient if it works.

XB1 plays AVI and MP4 files....

I'm not saying that I can't play mkv files like its a problem. I'm just saying that if the XB1 can play avi and MP4 files...why not have an app that does it so I don't have to go through hoops to play home videos?

No unfortunately the ps3 is the only console that can do this. The xbox one, 360 and ps4 can't.

So far it seems that they are inaccessible and unable to be found or deleted. We need File Explorer or a new version of it in order to access and manage our downloaded files. We need File Explorer for both Downloaded files from Internet Explorer and transfered
files from a USB drive to the Console.

Same problem i am having as well, I can play MP4 Video format on my Xbox, how can update the media file with out internet?

And MP4 isn't?

The point being that any video file type can be uploaded to a torrent site for others to download. It is not restricted to one file type. You'll likely find MP4's are more commonly pirated than MKV.

there is a way to fix some mp4 files that have not finalised, rename the extension from mp4 to avi then use vlc to fix the video, i have had about 50% work fine after doing this.
