Downloading Updates Takes Forever!

So me and my friend decided to go play some BF4, but there's an update. His update do shied about 30 mins ago and took a max of 1 minute to download, and mine is sitting here at 30%. Yet this has been happening to me with all of my downloaded for every game,
including downloading maps, addons, games, they just take forever meanwhile my friends takes no less than a few minutes. I have fast internet and no ones using their computer in my house I don't understand why it's taking so long!

Downloading takes forever

I have a dedicated line running strait to my house, it is not shared.

I have tried connecting directly, but it doesn't change anything.

I will just buy a new router and contact my ISP to see if anything is wrong on their end.

Downloading takes forever

I have 40 MB download but it took me minutes to download a 192 KB file.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Do a detailed network statistics test in settings under the network tab and post your results.

Greetings Phantum and madmainemoose,

While I understand that you have fast internet, sometimes the modem itself can slow things to a crawl.. It's unfortunate, but not all modems are compatible with Xbox One.

For more information, please have a look at

If your modem is not listed, then it is more than likely not compatible.. But if it is listed, then hopefully there will be some technical advice there to help speed things up for you.

Delete out the update and try to do it over again, if you still havent gotten it to fully download yet.

Didn't have any issues with the update downloading. Could it possibly be your internet?

I ended up restarting my router and once my Xbox reconnected to the internet it jumped to 80% installed and finished shortly after. The update didn't take very long either afterwards.
