    I have an HP Omen 17 an0xx laptop. The ONLY modification that I've made to the hardware, is adding an NVME SSD. Every single time I try to download the XBox App (whether it's via the installer exe or from the Windows Store) I always get the error code 0x80070005. I've tried everything from as simple as restarting my computer to messing with permissions and then restarting. Yet the windows store is just fine with taking my money and downloading Minecraft. It seems to only be ANYTHING XBox related. This problem has persisted for months for me and I'm about fed the f*** up.

    Which beta app are you having issue downloading? The Xbox Console Companion App (Beta) or the Xbox Game Pass for PC app (Beta)? You'll need to have he beta companion app downloaded first before you can download the PC game pass app (beta) and you will also
    need to have Windows update version 1903.

    Restart your PC and then make sure you have the requirements to download the PC game pass app.

    Just like to point out that the Xbox app for PC is not required for Play Anywhere titles. All of those games can be downloaded from the Windows Store.
