Downloading profile

I recently deleted my profile. When I tried to download it again after entering the correct email address and password I got an error message on my Xbox 360 console stating "Sorry, there's a problem with the credentials that you're using to sign in. Go to
http://account.live.com to fix the problem". I have reset my Microsoft password now twice. I am using my Microsoft email address and an app password, but every time I try to download my profile the same error appears. Would anyone be able to give me some advice
on how to resolve this issue?

Deleting downloaded profile?

I decided to dust off my 360 and I downloaded my profile awhile ago. But if I delete it and not my actual profile. All of my saves and data will still be there, right? Because from what I read. The only point of downloading your profile, is if you want to log in to a different console.

Saves should be fine, proflie can be deleted and redownloaded.

I suggest trying to see what happens when you set up a new App password via the steps mentioned on this page:

https://support.xbox.com/my-account/security/no-prompt-security-code

If that doesn't be be sure to try the following steps:

1. remove your profile

2. clear cache and power the console off and on again

3. download the profile

If all fails you might want to consider turning two step verification off to see what will happen.

Side note: Keep in mind that a password longer then 16 (or 12) will not work on the Xbox 360
