Downloading games on hard drive

So I recently plugged in a hard drive storage that I bought off Amazon. It connects to my Xbox and is counted as a external drive, but when ever I try downloading games it either stops random because the storage switches to internal or after the game finishes
downloading the game won’t load up. I don’t get why this is happening ?

I would recommend downloading the game on your hard drive and then try to play the game through the hard drive

reformat the drive so it works perfectly and set it up correctly. Set it as games you install from that point on... Just for argument sake what type of external drive didi you get???

Hey Pal, So it was a brand new Drive so when I plugged it into my xbox, I formatted it for the xbox. Now when ever I try downloading anything It switches from my external to internal which causes the download to crash. I don’t understand why.

You may have to reformat your external hard drive, which you can do by following

Hey Hey Diana,

Did you format it to Xbox when you first plugged it in ?

If you didn't or formatted via PC - unformat it and then re plug into xbox and format to Xbox
