Downloading games and games not starting up

so I’m trying to update fortnite on my Xbox one x and it’s taking longer than usual it’s a 10.06gb download which usually is down in about 30 minutes to an hour on my internet connection but as I said it’s taking longer than usual and every time I go to
start up a game to kill time it always says it took too long to start up, does anyone know how to fix this?

Sorry to hear it. If a power cycle or factory reset did not work for you then please try deleting then reinstalling the game.

If this does not work You will have to talk to Xbox Support

Hey

Try con clean the cache by pressing the button on the front to switch off the console and hold it for 10 seconds...

Then try again with games

Yes same issue with me. About 30+ hours ago my xbox developed an issue where it was unable to update any games, download any games, and already installed games fail to start 85% of the time. My brother has another xbox in the same household and is experiencing
the same issue. Hard reset, deletion of local saves, and resetting wifi modem all failed to fix the problem. As of right now the issue is still ongoing

This solution has also failed, no change to the issue. Can I expect some kind of compensation for the failure of these services? I activated xbox games pass 5 days ago, and have been unable to download, and therefore play any of
the games on it. Also I contacted xbox support 3 days ago about this issue, and was given a 48 - 72 hour timeline for a fix, this has now passed, so is there a possibility of an update on how long this fix will take?

Hello MJ,

Thanks for coming to the forums. When you
set the home, is it the account that owns the game? In some instances you may need to reset this option. To do this have them log on, go to settings>personalization>home Xbox>the box should say remove my home Xbox. Go ahead and select this. Now will say
make this my home Xbox, select this box. What this does is a kind of troubleshoot for the home settings. It will not use a switch as you haven't changed the console to any other console. Are you able to see other games they own?
