    Downloading digital Xbox 360 game to Xbox one question


    Hi,

    I just want to know if the following is possible.

    I want to download Doom on to my Xbox one. I’ve noticed its available on the marketplace. It shows up as a bundle on Xbox one store but you can’t download it.

    I logged in online to the marketplace and bought it (demo at the moment to see if it works) and then went back to my Xbox one to see if its there or if I can then download it but its not there.

    Is this possible? Am I doing something wrong? I know it is backward compatible but do I actually just have to buy the physical copy or can I download it.

    Backwards Compatible games fail to use saved data

    Digital 360 games playing on Xbox One or on 360? If playing on Xbox One and your 360 profile isn't working right, try downloading the profile using a hard wired internet connection. If that works, you can go back to wireless to
    actually play the games.

    I don't think you will be able to download the demo version from the Xbox 360 store to the Xbox One.

    Any game you have on the 360 digitally that is backwards compatible with the Xbox One will appear in your Ready to Install section of Games & Apps.

    If you have the disc copy , you can just put it in and it will try to download the compatible copy.

    Many thanks for the quick reply.

    Yes I know its backward compatible but just didn’t want to waste £3.49 on the game if it didn’t download on to the Xbox one. I don’t have the physical copy but would buy if this didn’t work.

    So if I buy the game on Marketplace on the internet, go back into my games and apps it will be waiting for me?

    @BronzeFir734923 - That's correct. As long as the 360 game is backwards compatible, if you purchase it on the internet (from Xbox.com), then it will be waiting to download on your Xbox One.

    Aston not sure I understand your Minecraft question. If you mean does the current 360 digital version orok on the Xbox One then the answer is no. No 360 game will work on the One. There have been rumours that MS may make some older games downloadable on
    the One but they will likely be new purchases.

    Anyways.. Does anyone happen to know if Downloaded or Digital Games are in one way or the other a sense of Emulator?.. Like Digital Games on Xbox One?.. Or Digital Games on Xbox 360 or so?.. My reason for asking this question is that I am just simple very
    heavily curious if it's true or not true..

    We all know that using games from Xbox 360 to Xbox One counts as a Emulator.. But that is not what I am asking though..

    I have found this but Amazon does not write that in their description, they write the opposite

    But what I found on another website was this

    Q. When I upgrade from digital download for Xbox 360 to digital download for Xbox One, will my digital Xbox 360 game license be deactivated?

    A. No, Xbox 360 game license will not be deactivated. Both game licenses will be retained.

    This essentially means that should you buy the license, you will be buying the game for both consoles simultaneously. Sweet idea?

    No, Xbox 360 game license will not be deactivated. Both game licenses will be retained.
