Downloading Digital Games Before Release

I think it would be a welcomed ability, I always go to midnight launches of the titles I really want at EB Games and although I still prefer to have a hard copy, I would like the option to do it this way.

Digital Copy wouldn't download so I purchased a physical copy. How do I get my money back for the digital copy?

I believe it's a "All Sales Are Final" type of thing. I've only read about people getting refunds on digital "before" the game releases; such as pre-downloading.

You do know the thing that the XB1 has right?? the ability to start playing while it is downloading... why would we need to DL it a day before?

 

Out of curiosity, would this feature entice any of you to be more likely to get digital over physical? After all, having to wait on a download is one of the many reasons many people don't buy digital.

 

No, I cannot trade or resell digital, at least with discs I can trade or sell the ones I don't keep, and digital versions don't do the likes of legendary editions (the ones I keep) , the only digital versions I get are the arcade type games, Spartan Assault
etc.

If i buy a hard copy of a game from GAME in the uk and put it to special delivery, it always come 1 or sometimes 2 days before release haha. I know its slightly of topic but just thought id say.

 

Download for me all the way have done with TF and fifa

Also most people now change there address to US one and download 4 days earlier lol

 

This was a feature I hoped we would have soon after release, well sooner than now anyway. I've always said in numerous threads I want to obtain most my games via the Xbox marketplace because I'm too lazy to have to keep getting
up and changing discs, so a feature like this would be welcomed with open arms.

I think Microsoft will implement this feature because digital is the future, and there are a lot of people who still buy physical copies and Microsoft will need to make digital downloads easier on the Xbox One.

Its a cool feature for people with slow internet connections and I think MS should totally implement it. However, it won't impact whether or not I go digital as I have the resources to do that.

 

12:01am any new release should be available for DD, as for a pre sell.... sure, why not... although I never have and never will stay up for a launch, I wouldn't mind to wake up in the morning having a new title waiting for use.

Burst Axe, I agree. As someone who has a slower internet connection than most (6 down; 1 up), this is the primary reason why I will personally want this feature. Although I'm not unhappy with the way things work now, it will be nice knowing that I can play
it upon the game's actual release rather than 1 day later.

 

MS need this and the ability to browse the Marketplace and buy games via SmartGlass. If I'm browsing through the games on my phone and see one that I want, I should be able to click on it, but it, and have it download to my Xbox One automatically (as long
as it's in instant on mode) so it's ready for when I get home.

I'm sure both of these things will come in time. Not doing it is leaving money on the table and MS don't like doing that.

Even though I've gone all digital so far just for the sake of convenience (I love instant game switching), it is a rip-off compared to buying discs. Titanfall is £54.99 in the UK on Xbox Live, but before release, Amazon were selling the disc-based version
for £37.

 

Sigma, I agree about being able to buy via Smartglass - they should definitely implement that soon as well. As for buying digital, I have heard from others that it is more expensive for you guys over in the UK, which is really unfortunate. Out of curiosity,
why is it more expensive across the pond for digital games - I know why it is for physical releases, by why digital?

 

Because i guess companies still want us to buy physical software, big retailers make money from our custom and i guess if ms undercut them by a large margin we'd all go digital then Game, Asda, Tescos n all the major retailers would get uberly pissy and
in some cases go out of business (independent game stores) and stop buying large bulks of games and ms would lose a lot of money/selling power especially the large market that isn't digital as i guess they'd just go to the console that isn't n carry on buying
games from the stores
