    So where I live there is no high speed internet. I have to use a Verizon hot spot and only get so much data per month before the speed drops to around 300 kb/s. My question is this: will the Xbox series X just not download anything below a certain bandwidth? My ps5 has no issue with it but I tried to download the offline mode for MSFS20 but it would immediately cancel the download. I'm pretty miffed about it, especially since when I cancelled the download, it apparently just deleted the whole game that I'd spent almost half my monthly allotment of data on.

    I fixed it. It was a DNS issue but I switched it to Google's public servers and it's working properly now.

    Hello Thomas,sometimes it may not be an Xbox issue, but rather the game developer who is downloading the game.

    If you leave the Xbox off (stand by) to donwnload the game, if the throughput drops precipitously, the console may time out the request with the download server and thereby momentarily interrupt the process.

    Ideally, sometimes you'll start donwaload but leave the console on, if you're monitoring the amount of megas you've used from Verizon, take a break from donwaload so you can continue another time.

    All games will update the patch from the internet prior to installing the content from the disc. If you have slow internet you are waiting on that to download the patch first.

    You can install the games without being connected to the internet then connect and patch them after install if need be.

    Very slow downloads on my Xbox X

    Are you over WiFi or Ethernet? I suggest the latter, as 4K content downloads are quite big, and Ethernet is the most reliable way to connect your Xbox to the internet.

    If you are currently streaming, like on Mixer (for example), background downloads would be slowed significantly.
