    Any reason why when I started downloading Quantum Break from a disc it only took 20 minutes, but when I started installing Dragon Age Inquisition from the Xbox live store it took 13 hours?

    Xbox One S game installation question

    Alot of the disc install times were caused by the console downloading updates for the game at the same time as installing the game. There is a noticable speed difference if you go offline before installing.

    New XB1 owner. Looks great, but DL times, ugh...

    That's not install times, that's download times.

    There is a difference between downloading and installing.

    Well because you are installing from a disc which is local it would only install patches from there net for the disc based which you are talking about megabytes max a gig

    When you download a game they tend to be 10-15gigs depending on type

    Game saves are separate from game installs/downloads. Also, the install file is different than the download file. So you would not be able to use the install without the disc.

    I don't believe it's the download time I'm watching. It's the install percent. Isn't the download different?

    Makes no difference if download or disk, disk still installs on harddrive.

    No,installing and downloading are two different things.

    In order to play without the disc you will need to download the game from the marketplace.
