    Downloading a game twice for two users on PC


    There are two accounts on my PC: my wife's and mine. We both have game pass—one account for my wife, and another separately purchased account for me. Meaning we both have access to games at the same time (one on Xbox and one on PC). My wife downloaded
    a game logged in as her user on the PC. This game is taking up storage in our single PC. Why do I
    also have to download the game—causing me to take up twice as much storage on the one single PC—to be able to play the game that was already downloaded to this one PC?

    I don't buy the same game twice very often. I can only name 4 games that I bought twice. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 DISC & Digital Download, BF3 for Xbox 360/PC and GTA IV for Xbox 360/PC, Gear of War 1 DISC and digital download.

    It shows up twice, because it is literally two separate downloads. It was on the same gamertag.

    PC for Xbox and Xbox for PC game

    If it is a Play Anywhere title then yes, you can download it and play on both Xbox and PC for nothing but if it is not a Play Anywhere title game then you would have to buy it twice, once for PC and once for Xbox.
