Downloaded the preview Dashboard. Not reading Xbox one discs

I downloaded the Xbox one preview dashboard and ever since it has been installed i am unable to play Xbox One games.

I have tried all the troubleshooting options and no progress has been made.

Although the Xbox does not play Xbox one games, it does however play the xbox 360 game Mass effect, therefore i think it is a software issue.

PLEASE SEND HELP

Xbox One not reading discs

1. Make sure your console is plugged into an outlet, NOT power surge or power protector.

2. Settings >disc and blue ray > blue ray > persistent storage > clear persistent storage.

3. Settings > power and start up > turn off or restart > restart now

4. Repeat step 2

5. Power cycle the console by holding the power button for 10 seconds, and unplugging the console from the wall for 30 seconds.

it worked for me well before the updated my xbox one to that new preview dashboard...now i cant do crap with it. system tells me that it cant read my disc. major programming error on xbox's part to advertise back compat and then cant even ensure it.

You will need to first post and the preview forums.

Next you need to download the preview dashboard app which was sent to all of us via an Xbox message....use this app to remove the console from the preview program.

If you never downloaded the preview dashboard app you will also need to create one post not to asking for a new token to download the preview dashboard app and then use that app to remove the console from the preview program.

@Tootie SAME EXACT SITUATION AS ME. I used to be a part of the preview updates (my Xbox worked perfectly beforehand), but now every initial disc insert has the disc drive taking in the disc, spin the disc, but doesn't recognize that its there so the dashboard
still says "insert disc". When I press eject, the disc drive ejects it, but then pulls back in the disc, actually reads the disc (you hear the drive actually read it, not just whir) and reads it properly. Subsequent disc inserts work properly.

I know of another one having the exact issue as us, that's why I think this is a software issue. Let's hope for a patch in June!
