Downloaded "Gears of War" successfully in Germany from German store. Can not ...

I bought from Amazon.fr the game "Gears of War Judgment".



In the game-case there was a code for the game "Gears of War" (1st part).



I live in Germany and have typed in the code on my German console (language: German / Region: German) in the German Xbox-Live Store.



I did successfully redeemed it and was downloading it. It worked perfectly



I needed some space on my HDD for other games, so i deleted Gears of War from my HDD.



When i go now to my download history i get an error message 800700E8. When i try to download via Xbox.com it tells me "content no longer available"





The game is on the "black-list" on my country. My point is that i was actually able to redeem it, and now am no longer able to redownload it. Since the code is already used i can also not download it again on another account.



Xbox Live support (Chat) was telling me it was an error that the game showed up on the german store and that they cannot do anything about it. They told me to contact the French Xbox Live support. They also couldn´t help me. Both of them were telling
me i should change the console to french. It didn´t help though... same error. They were also telling me i should move my whole account to french.



Thats not really what i want to do, since i even think it is against the xbox live rules. I would accept if i couldn´t download the game in the first place, but I COULD AND IT DID WORK ! Now i am in the situation that the code is redeemed and i
cannot re-download it, though i can see it in my history.



I am very angry. Especially about the support. They were trying to do something, but in the end i was only told "we can´t do anything about it".



It is not my fault. The Xbox Store allowed me to download it. There was no error or anything like that in the first place.



Please help me.

Switch Fallout New Vegas from German Xbox Live Store to English

Hi!

I downloaded Fallout New Vegas today from the German Xbox Store. Unfortunately, it's only in German. But I want to play it in English. Is there a way to switch to English?

If not, can I withdraw my transaction somehow? I'm kind of *** of, because in the description there was written "Supports German" but not "Supports ONLY German". It is annoying and totally not understandable that obviously you can not download the original
versions in Germany...

How to download Fallout 3 (and other games) out of your own country

Hello, Few days ago me and my brother tried to download Fallout 3 from the store, but as soon as I click on "download " appear an error which say: "Sorry, something went wrong. This isn't available for your region, or the file is corrupted, or we don't
recognize the format. Find more by looking up status code 80150017 at www.xbox.com/errorhelp". My brother lives in Germany but since that we're Italian we bought our Xbox in Italy and our Xbox Live account was localized in Italy. After few research about the
error we find out that the problem was the account. So we changed country from Italy to Germany and finally we were able to download the game. After finished the download we start the game but...it was in german. No problem but, the Fallout 3 german it's too
much complicated for our german level. Since that now we can't change again the localization of the account we created another one localized in Italy. We tried with other games but nothing. That error appeaer every time. But if we change again the localization
from Italy to Germany, the games will be downloaded in german and even if the console language is setted on Italian, games will run in german. What can we do? Is there any solution? PS: Sorry for my English and all the grammar error (I'm writing from a tablet).

 

Unfortunately there is no thing anyone will be able to do since the game is region locked. There is no way to download it if it's not in the marketplace for your region. Even if you were to change your account region, you would not be able to download it
because your account region and your physical location would not match.

 

OK the region-lock is something i do understand.

But the question comes, why did the region-lock not work in the first place???

Preventing of "buying" me the game in the german store ?

And who's fault is that? Mine? Because i saw something which shouldn´t be there?

I would have no problem if i couldn`t download the game. But i could. And this is now giving me problems. With an un-used code i could still do something. No i have no code and no possibility to get my game

 

You bought it out of region that's why sometimes people do after awhile get past the region lock but its not 100%thats why we always recommend only buying from your actual region

FYI gears of war is region locked due to the Germany's regulatory ban on it

I bought this IN GERMANY from the GERMAN STORE with a GERMAN console and a GERMAN-IP, which i was not supposed to !!!

The only thing is that the code was a french one. Nevertheless it was redeemed in Germany

NOT OUTSIDE GERMANY !!!

Everything German and it DID work ! But it shouldn´t have. I should not have been able to find that game.

What you bought from amazon fr would be the French version unless you have a ger which would not be

The only one that would be available is the German however since it is a baned game that doesn't exist

People do buy out of region but codes are region specific

You aren't supposed to redeem out of region codes it just pulls the local region if it is available

 

It doesn't stop the code from being redeem however you will run into download issues due to the Usk ban

You should feel lucky Usk doesn't confiscate your computer

FYI that is how serious the bans are

Cod waw and black ops gets confiscated at the border if you try and enter the country with those except Usk versions

 

Redeeming the code just means you used it however it does not garentee it works

If you broke Usk laws that's your issue as ms has to uphold the laws

There is also reports that "Gears of War" was indeed on the German Xbox Live Marketplace (some weeks ago, i don´t know if it was the same timeframe). People thought that the game was re-reviewed by USK and that it was on purpose, but it wasn´t. It was an
error by Microsoft.

After typing in the code, the description of the game was German. BTW: The game was offered for 4,94€ on the German-Xbox-Live Store

I think i will never buy stuff digital again. You will only get problems with that... If i had the DVD from Gears-of-War, then i could still play it...

I think the topic can be closed.

The result is: No game, No code, No proposal from Microsoft

Using a VPN doesn't allow you to bypass Usk law

As Usk has refused the rating for gears there is no point at which it is ever allowrd

The only German version is the Switzerland version but as the Usk ban is still in effect it would be region locked
