Downloaded Digital Game using wrong Microsoft Account

Hi,

I work for a charity and we recently got donated a sum of money to purchase an Xbox One for our children's & teen's play room. I purchased an Xbox that included a digital copy of FIFA 16 and after setting up the console downloaded the game. Naively I thought
I could just sign in with my personal Microsoft account, download the game onto the console, then once the game was on the console sign out from my account and just let people use the game on the console.

Of course as soon as I went to play the game I was told I had to sign back in with my personal account and am now left with the situation of having a game that is unplayable unless I leave my personal account with my personal details and personal bank settings
signed into a public Xbox.

Is there no way to create a Microsoft account specifically for the charity I work for and make it so the game is playable when signed in under that account?

Redeemed digital code under wrong family account how do I switch it?

You can definitely make a new account, but you would need to try contacting support to see if there is anything they can do about the game. It's generally not pssoble to transfer anything between accounts. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada or

Did you download your Microsoft account, onto another Xbox device? If so, digital purchases are part of that account. Search your version of Modern Warfare, and check the Microsoft Store for your purchased version.

You might be using Game Pass, or a free to play variant. If your brother's account owns that Modern Warfare game, your account can not download the game.

The owner of the digital copy of the game, has the rights for downloading onto a new Console or PC.

yes you will just use your Microsoft account that you sign in with , and any digital games should be there to download 👍

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums with this question. As the gift cards were purchased at a 3rd party retailer, the refund would have to come from their end as the cards weren't purchased directly from Microsoft/Xbox using a Microsoft account.

Like the Ambassadors previously recommended, the games can be bought (digital copy) under her account and they will then be associated with that account for download/installation/use. Essentially the license to the game would be assigned to her account digitally.
A physical disc copy is solely used for licensing purposes as the game itself has to be downloaded and installed much like a digital copy. I recommend taking a look at our support article entitled Buying
digital games on Xbox One FAQ which contains information that will give you a some further useful information.
