Downloaded Dead Rising and Receive Continuous Disc Unreadable Error

I recently purchased Dead Rising during the recent Capcom sale, as well as Resident Evil 4. I have not been able to really play the game because of the error telling me the disc is unreadable. I have tried clearing my cache and recovering my profile which
didn't help. I also thought to myself, "Well, maybe that part of the Hard Drive is corrupted." So I downloaded another game that was about the same size, 1/2 a GB bigger, and started re-downloading Dead Rising. As it re-downloaded, I tried the other game I
downloaded. This game was Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition, and it worked perfectly fine. Finally, hours later Dead Rising is ready! I tried to play it, and when I got to the same exact spot that I normally get to it gave me the error. I then proceeded
to copy my save onto my USB, and that seemed to work. I got farther than usual. However, re-entering the place that it has been messing up at usually later in the game gave me a disc read error yet again. I have previously owned this game on disc years ago,
but unfortunately I ended up giving it a "perfect circle scratch". When I played it on the disc I had no problems at all, I even had the first model of the 360 now I have a Slim. I looked around though, and apparently there is a few cases where this disc unreadable
error happens even with an actual disc and not just a download. Doesn't matter if the game was brand new, and the console was brand new it would happen, I guess I was just lucky. I don't know how old those posts were, but regardless it happened/happens. I
have tried everything I can think of to get this game to work, and considering those posts I seen, and the fact that the other game I downloaded worked perfectly fine I don't think my Hard Drive is corrupted or anything like that. So is there anyway I CAN
get this to work, or have I just wasted my money on this? Sure, since it was on sale it wasn't too much, but still it's annoying since I have owned this game before already, and for me that makes it feel like even more of a waste of money.

Sorry to hear you're having issues playing Dead Rising 2.

I would definitely recommend trying the steps in our
Games on Demand Disc Unreadable Troubleshooter.

You may also want to try downloading the game to a
USB drive and try playing from there.

Hey there, DashedJUGGALO96! I am really sorry to see that you're getting that error in the middle of the game. Is it possible to try this game on another profile and see if it still pops up with that error? It may be possible that the save is corrupted from
when you played it on the disc version.

 

After reading this, I just now tried using my friends profile since he has it on my Xbox. Still messed up in the same spot. I'm pretty sure my Hard Drive isn't corrupt or anything, but I can't even test that out to be 100% sure because I have no other Xbox
with the capability to connect to Live so I can download the game onto another since the Slims have the stuff built in.

The only other thing I can suggest is to try it on another hard drive. However, if you are unable to try that, I do suggest
contacting support for a refund. You cannot use the material that you paid for, and they should be able to give you a one time courtesy refund.

If we can't get it working, I am sorry to see that! I do hope that we can get everything sorted out via support.
