Download takes forever

I just purchased an Xbox One. Loading new games takes way too long. I've gone into settings to reset , I've disconnect the power, plugged and unplugged, pressed the power button to reset as well. After an hour it says Gears of Wars hasn't completely
loaded yet; only35%, and its a brand new game. Any suggestions from the community would be greatly appreciated

Where do you get PC games?

I usually download mine from origin, download takes forever but you can have it on multiple PCs.

Hi TurnkeyCoyote17, is your game disk based or digital?

Digital games will naturally take a while to download and install. So this would be normal as it's dependant on your internet speed.

If your game is disk based, it will be trying to install from the disk while downloading any updates that have been released since the game came out. You can try to speed this up by putting your xbox into offline mode, hard resetting the xbox, re-installing
while offline (will still take a short while), then when you go back online, it'll download the most recent updates.

Also don't forget the I think the game size is nearly 100GB and this will take quite a while to install.

I have a dedicated line running strait to my house, it is not shared.

I have tried connecting directly, but it doesn't change anything.

I will just buy a new router and contact my ISP to see if anything is wrong on their end.

The download speed depends of your internet conection, you can try to use a Ethernet cable instead Wi Fi ...

Also you can try to open the network ports in the case that your NAT are restricted or moderated.

Since you got 40mb service are you using a bt hub?

If so please contact your isp

the routers have issues with all gaming services

it is well documented not just for xbox

also does your account region match your actual region?
