    Download speeds while downloading games?


    So i run a gig connection in ash on xsx so while downloading ill hit 430 450 mbps and all sudden it drops to nothing blank for 10 or 15 secs then jump up to 900 all up to 1.2 gbps but its not really always 300s to 400s so does xbl cap it or just alpha skip ring or both. Just asking any1 else have this issue

    How large is the game? That along with the download speed will determine the time required to download the game. However, you will probably not achieve the full 60Mbps download speed.

    You can speed the download up some by running wired instead of wireless and by not using your console while the download is running.

    Try restarting your router to possibly help your download speed. Opening games while downloading/updating games can lower your download speed so make sure all games and apps are closed.

    Yes, any games or apps downloaded through the store are capped at the same speed showing in the speed test using Edge.
    While I also get less than optimal speeds when I speed test through Edge, my Marketplace downloads are consistent with my internet speed (granted, I "only" have 100Mbit, and due to the distance from the DSLAM I "only" get 70-80Mbit download speed).

    So are the actual marketplace downloads when you download a game or an app equally slow?
