    Download speeds have suddenly slowed


    When I first got my xbox (around two years ago) it was fine and that lasted up until a few months ago. My update and downloads would always go at around 120 mbs per second. Starting a few months ago, my download speeds suddenly slowed, barely ever going
    above 5 mbs per sec and sometimes staying in the kbs range. Ive run multiple speed tests on multiple devices and they always show speeds at least 180 mbs or higher. I dont understand why the updates and downloads have become so slow and ive asked plenty of
    my freinds and they said that they had all experienced the same problem. Did an xbox update cause this? Or are microsoft bottlenecking downloads? Im not sure but I’ll put in two pictures that I took while updating modern warefare that show the difference in
    speeds. I just wanna know why this is happening.

    Sorry to hear you having issues with your downloads. Have you tried following this troubleshoot guide?
    It may help you with your download speed. Please note that your download speed may vary due to your ISP network contention during peak usage windows.

    The Microsoft servers for XBox & Game Pass are a joke.

    Nothing to do. We are being throttled by all servers right now. Best thing to do is try to download overnight, early morning. All servers are doing this. Hang in there and expect 5mb/s downloads from the servers. If you time out, then try again later.
    Try also using a different point to start and manage the download like your phone Gamepass app.

    I Port forwarded all ports required by Xbox to work properly with still poor speed results. I called COX tech support and said they closed port #80 to everyone do to security reasons (viruses/worms). That is ridiculous being that Port 80 is a common port
    required by many things to work properly. It looks like I am screwed unless I change ISP's.
