    Download speed while downloading updates


    I am a returning Xbox one owner as of last Thursday, Currently just installing the outrageous update size of Halo 5. I am running the console direct via cable to router but noticed when accessing WiFi throughout the property it is terribly slow. Any small
    change I can do to speed things up while using wireless. My PS4 never ran into this issue .

    3GB Ryse Update took almost 12 hours to download

    Download Speeds does take certain factors including your internet download speed as well as when you are downloading it. If alot of people are downloading the update at the same time it will hinder the speed of download.

    Xbox Live is bogging down my internet.

    Just a bit more information, as I was typing out my Original post I was also downloading a 1410 Preview update on my Xbox One.

    While the update was downloading I ran a speedtest at www.speedtest.net. It showed my ping at around 245ms with download speeds at 2.5mbps upload speeds at 0.80mbps.

    Now that the update has finished downloading my ping is now back to 19ms. Download is back to 16.25mbps and upload is back to 1.25 mbps. Yes I have crappy speeds, but I have NEVER had this problem with Xbox Live.

    Will depend on your download speed as every game seems to have a sizeable update which, I think, it downloads while installing

    Xbox Games downloading at very slow speed.

    Hey might not be relevant but if you are playing certain games while trying to download or update something it can really slow your download speed.

    I was playing Yakuza 0 while updating games and my speed dropped to kbps until I stopped playing that game.

    Might not help in this instance but useful to know

    Hello BlankUsername32,

    Try restarting your router to possibly help your download speed. Opening games while downloading/updating games can lower your download speed so make sure all games and apps are closed.

    If you are installing from the disc, it will install around 50-60 gb and also download the rest because they are updates. Could take a while depending on your download speed.
