    Download speed on Series X is atrocious


    Hello all-

    Setting up 2 Xbox Series X today. Both have static IP addresses and are hard wired. Speed into the home is 400+ 30 down. No issues with service in as confirmed on speed test.

    For some reason, download of games from the game servers (NBA 2K and GTA) has been slow and erratic. We would go from 150 to 80 to 30 to 9 to stopping altogether in the span of 30 seconds. No rhyme or reason. Tried each gam independent of the other and the
    same thing happened. Has anyone been experiencing the same thing? Gameplay isn't effected and we have no other issues- just the fact that the downloads now are much worse than we ever saw with an XBONE with the same connection and ports opened up.

    Why are my download speeds only getting up to 50mbps on an Xbox series x on a wired connection?

    Your download speeds are dictated by the speeds of the servers you are downloading from not by the theoretical maximum your line can support. If that was the maximum you managed with the One, then buying a Series X wouldn't automatically boost speeds.

    Hello,

    Are you suggesting that Xbox series x are not capable at all of getting more than 250 download speed? I have a friend who lives less than a mile aware who pulls through over a 1gbps on series x, how do you explain that?

    Appreciate 250 is a good speed, but besides the point. Why should Microsoft gamers be limited to 250mbps download speed when WiFi packages exceed this massively?

    Can the download speed be so fast that the downloads become slow?

    I’m on the Xbox Series X. The issue hasn’t resolved itself. The download speed is so bad. How can my download speed go from 100-300 Mbps all the way down to 3Mbpa by switching my networks settings to automatic.
