Download speed lower than what it should be

Hello,

Got my Xbox One this morning along with Destiny,

I thought it was taking a long time to download the game, so i figured out how to check, and it is showing that i am downloading at 5mb.

Steam on my PC and other games and clients download from anywhere from 20-40mb (pc and xbox both connected by wire to the router)

So i was wondering if there is a setting limiting it or something im missing?

gamerscore 2,000 lower than it should be

I noticed my Gamerscore is at 66,260, when it should be at 68,245. Tried a system restart and even added up the achievement score on my list to see if it was correct and I was mistaken, still added up to 68,245. Support chat has no explanation for me
either and has thus sent me here, really hoping someone in the community/someone who actually works for Microsoft can help me. Achievements are kind of dumb but my buddy and I compete in Gamerscore, one of the main reasons I play video games on Xbox so this
is kind of a bummer.

gamerscore 2,000 lower than it should be

I've encountered a few people reporting the same thing over the past week or so.

No idea why it happens but it'll correct itself & you should get the missing Gamerscore back within the next few days.

Microsoft recommends a minimum download speed of 3 megabits per second for online gaming, 1 megabit per second for SD video streaming, and 3.5 megabits per second for HD video streaming. Minimum upload speed for online gaming should be faster than
0.5 megabits per second. Streaming does not utilize upload speeds. The ping should be less than 150 milliseconds for anything done on the Internet. The lower the ping number, the more effective the connection is.

So when you retype your password it succesfully lets you log on and connect to xbox live, right? You can even test your connection and it goes through successful?

In that case try running www.speedtest.net and www.pingtest.net

If you have any packetloss on ping test, that can be your issue right there.

If your download speed is lower than the required 3mbps download speed for xbox live or lower than the required 1.5mbps upload speed, that will cause similar issues as well.

you may be connecting at 5Mbps but sustained download can fluctuate a lot and will usually be a little lower than your connection speed.

if qos is enabled on the router this can also slow down download speeds if others are streaming or gaming in the household.
