Download speed just took a dive

Tonight my hard wired download speed slowed down from the usual 90+ mbps to 1-5mbps (1-5mbps wireless also). After restarting my modem, router, xbox one, and checking all the cables, nothing has changed. If I unplug the ethenet cable from the xbox one,
and plug it in my laptop, its 90+ mbps, so I'm getting a good signal to the xbox one ethernet port. Both my laptop and iPhone work great on wireless also. NAT type is open. What could possibly be happening?

Its a currently known issue with live this afternoon its not just you. Looks like a server took a dive somewhere

 

why did it take sooo long to download?

i just downloaded Dead Rising 2 and DR2 Case Zero and guess how long it took to download dead rising 2?????



5 AND A HALF HOURS!!!!!!!!



i started at 6:30 pm and it finished at 12:00 midnight, it took 5and a half hours to download a 6.14GB game and yet it took only 25 minutes or so to download the 856mb or so Case Zero.

whats the deal here why would itke so damn long?

btw i did a speed test thing and its a 4.10 download speed whatever that means.

 

Hey there!

Let's see if we can figure out what might be going on here. First, who is your ISP? And what is the make/model of your networking hardware? Second, is it possible that your ISP is throttling your download speeds if you have a data cap?

Barring that, you mention you've tried a few things already which is good. The next step I'd recommend is attempting a

factory reset of your console. You can keep your games and apps when you do this but it'll basically reset everything else. Hopefully that helps but if not, post back with the other information and we'll do some more digging.
